In my last 2 pregnancies I ate my way through a ton a 'granny smith' apples (had to be peeled), & raw runner beans.

Also very worringly, loved the smell of petrol, rubber tyres, nail varnish remover, and them alcohol wipes they use in the hospital!!!

This time I like the apples, but am into poached eggs on toast every morning.

Ds1 - ate so much beetroot and was alarmed by (oh dear - this is too graphic-- sorry) the colour (you know where this is going) in the loo (no.2's).(it was purple)!!
Gladly with dd and ds2 it was (lots of) chocolate!

No real "must-haves" except a glass of milk every morning. I ate quite a bit of white chocolate though.

Callipo ice lollies !

suzywong · 13/07/2004 23:36

Lovehearts
Parma Violets
Giant Fizzers

Both PGs, that's how I knew it was a boy again second time round.

Can't touch them now of course

Essbee that is the plainest craving I have ever heard of!

Piffleoffagus · 13/07/2004 23:59

ds - strawberries and galia melons, veges and water

dd - carrots, beetroot (red wee and poo) lager, pears, tomato soup and liquorice!
Hmmmm

Angeliz · 14/07/2004 00:07

mashed potato!
I remember lying in bed one night when i was pregnant with dd wishing i could be arsed to make some

This time nothing so much as yet but early days, i eat ALOT of golden delicious though. Smelly, my mam loved cooking apples when she was pregnant!!

Poached eggs aren't the same hard though!

Posey · 14/07/2004 00:26

With dd it was Skittles (those hard outer/chewy centred sweets) and with ds it was Fruit Gums and crisps.

Aero · 14/07/2004 00:29

Glad I wasn't the only beetroot one Piffleoffagus - alarming wasn't it?!!

lalaa · 14/07/2004 00:29

cooked tomatoes (could have eaten tinned tomatoes on toast every day for every meal), and at the beginning, red meat - lamb chops and mashed potato plus a veg with gravy, yummy. also, citrus fruits - ate fruit salad with grapefruit and oranges a lot. and when I had a bit of morning sickness, I could only eat junk - crisps and chocolate galore.

my cravings went away about 20 weeks though.

Bozza · 14/07/2004 00:32

orange juice and quavers with DD, couldn't touch oj with DS because of heartburn.

MadameButterfly · 14/07/2004 00:33

No cravings, but I went of Leek and Potato soup, that I used to love.

xoz · 14/07/2004 00:36

With both dd's
McDonalds Quarter Pounders...
Coca Cola (NOT diet)...
Ice (that seemed weird to me but have found many other have the same thing)...
Seafood Salad (usually can't stand the stuff)...

Lisa78 · 14/07/2004 00:41

cheese on toast - that might explain the size of me at 9months!!! I ate it so often, that whenever I walked into the work canteen, they just said "two?"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (as in slices!)

eddm · 14/07/2004 00:46

In early pregnancy I was obsessed with healthy food, craving fruit and veg, to the point where when dh made me nachos one night I burst into tears because it wasn't healthy! In late pregnancy, craved carbohydrates and sweet food (normally I'm not bothered about fatty, sweet stuff). Post-pregnancy I still have a real taste for cakes etc., even though before I wasn't that bothered.

smellymelly · 14/07/2004 11:14

Angeliz - I have to say that this being my 3rd (successful) pregnancy, I have given up having hard eggs!

I love the yolks as runny as poss on my toast...

sweet and sour sauce, spring rolls , mars bars - i did like teh smell of bacon but did not wan t to eat it

bunny2 · 14/07/2004 12:11

caesar salad, oranges (it goes downhill now), chocolate, white bread, more chocolate.

I dont like meat though, but when pg with ds I couldnt get enough steak down me despite having been a veggie for 17 yrs.

futurity · 14/07/2004 12:31

Last time it was chocolate brownies or any other "heavy" cake early on when I was feeling sick..it made me feel better...honest! Later on it was pasta...I couldn't get enough! Also milkshakes.

This time its early days but kind of similar I think. Have a milkshake every evening and get really over excited at pasta or jacket potatoes. Wonder if it means I am having a boy again?

emmatmg · 14/07/2004 13:09

DS1, it was pretty much anything that would rot my teeth. Those pink and white marsh mallow waffers were high on the list and while I was still at work I lived off chocolate. The poor little chap came out sugar coated.

DS2, chocolate again but not in such huge quanties. I also had a thing for white seedless grapes and once ate about 2 pound of them in one sitting........went into labour that night and spent virtually the entire time on the loo.

DS3, now I'm almost embarrassed to admit this as I see it a waste of a excellent opportuntity to stuff my face, but it was............. wait for it........... ice berg lettuce. Sometimes with abit of salad cream but either way it had the same effect of 5 bars of chocolate. Shameful!.
