Hypnotherapy for labour, has anyone tried it?

I've just been watching this on Richard and Judy. It looks too good to be true, a pain free labour! They had a woman who had tried it and a clip of a woman giving birth calmly and quietly. The mind is an incredibly powerful thing though isn't it? Was wondering if anyone has had any experience of this type of labour? I'd love to hear some stories and experiences to establish if it really would be worth the huge amount of money it will invariably cost! I'll post a link in a minute!! Or try too!

I had hypnotherapy for childbirth but it didn't result in a pain free labour

My dh's grandfather was a consultant ob/gyn. He once carried out a c section on a woman using hypnotherapy! There were lots of very good medical reasons why she could deliver vaginaly or have a more conventional aneasthetic.

He had been a prisoner of the Japanise during WW2 and carried out several life saving operations using hypnotherapy as there were no anaethetics available.

Sounds mad but it is 100% true!

Hi

If you want more information, please visit the official HypnoBirthing UK website at HypnoBirthing UK - www.hypnobirthing.co.uk

You can find lots more details, birth stories, an enquiry form for your nearest classes and also a discussion board where you can chat to practitioners and other mums about HypnoBirthing.

Hope that helps

Best regards
Gordon
