Evening sickness/food aversions/cravings

I am 6 weeks tomorrow & although I've had a slight feeling of nausea in the day it seems to properly kick in in the evening (paired with a windy/bloated tummy!) Tonight I ended up having a kids tea of fishfingers, potato & spaghetti hoops as it was the only thing I fancied. My sense of smell has suddenly gone into overdrive as well. The smell of vegetables cooking bleugh! Happy to be having pregnancy symptoms tho as hopefully means my hormone levels are increasing! Anyone else have any funny food aversions or cravings?

I'm at 26 weeks and hands down the only food that makes me excited is (veggie) sausage, mash, sweetcorn and onion gravy. Honest to god i think I've eaten it twice a week since I found out I was pregnant. It is the only meal I can finish and the only meal that doesn't make me gip at the thought of it.

Congrats and good luck!

Ditto - all the above but in the evening too. Sat here blown up like a hippo. Though in many ways easier in the eve as you can just rest, so I'm happy that it's this way round.

I'm 9 weeks and feel the same - the bloating has been very bad this week and my tummy feels quite tender in the evenings. Last night I had a "tea" of three Weetabix, some fruit and a glass of orange juice because DHs suggestion of lamb burgers made me feel green and that was all I wanted to eat.
Was still sick just before bed, but as you say, it's nice to know that hormone levels are doing their thing 😊

I couldn't eat meat until after 16 weeks and I still can't face chicken.

Gaggleofgirls · 24/07/2017 03:57

Any words of wisdom on how to combat it? Feeling so ill and still not slept!!!
Doesn't help that I want to punch snoring DH in the head!

boopdoop · 24/07/2017 12:35

I'm exactly the same. Fine in morning, but nauseous in afternoon but bearable if I keep eating but by evening it's awful. Struggling to eat a meal, throwing up and feel horrendous. I might just skip eating an evening meal properly and just eat bread and cheese and grapes, it's the only thing I want to eat then, can't face anything cooked. It's not great but only for a few weeks.

Mine has turned into pretty much all day nausea (now 6+4). Don't remember feeling this bad with my 2 DS but maybe I blocked it out! Thankfully I haven't actually been sick. I hate the feeling hungry but not knowing what to eat. Like boopdoop I find wraps with cheese & grapes seem ok. Cooked food is not! Gaggleofgirls sorry to hear you're not sleeping. DH's snoring can't help! Have you tried snacking little & often? Carbs seem to be a safe bet. Hopefully this stage doesn't last too long!

Thanks! Still not sleeping, still feeling green 🤢 I haven't tried snacking, I tried not eating past 6 tonight and was onto a winner (or so I thought!) literally until now.
Do you think I'll feel worse if I try and have something now? Might get some crackers or something.
I'm 20wks, how long does this last!! Not had it with the others so maybe it's a boy!!!!! Now that would be a real shock to the system!

HazyDays81 · 26/07/2017 20:41

Gaggleofgirls I find if I go too long without eating it gets worse so I've been having little and often. Seem fine with fruit but completely gone off veg. I had this throughout my previous pregnancies though don't remember the nausea being so bad. Are you finding out what you're having? How many girls do you already have?

Currently sitting here at 29 weeks munching through a box of crunchy nut cornflakes- dry!!! I can't get enough of cereal at the moment but completely gone off boiled veg! 🤢🤢

Don't know what I am having, any guesses based on cravings??

issy2165 · 26/07/2017 21:38
