Hi all,

As the title says, I've suddenly developed really quite strong sharp shooting pains in my cervix and the "down there" area and its quite painful!!

Just had a growth scan earlier today and baby, cord, placenta and me are all fine and baby is still moving; I'm 38+2 with my first. I had similar pains to these much earlier in my pregnancy which were caused by the baby kicking/hitting the cervix and/or a nerve, but these pains are much stronger and she's fully engaged and head down.

Been having braxton hicks frequently and that feeling of pressure when I walk, but the braxton hicks are not regular so not contractions from what I can tell.

A quick scan on the internet showy hat this could be the cervix opening or softening to just nerve pain; has anyone had this before? Anyone been told what it is and whether it is to do with your cervix softening or opening? Hoping she arrives sooner rather than later so I hope this is the start of labour...!

Xx
