Hello all.

I'm 7+5 weeks. I feel AWFUL. It started about a week ago. I'm not being sick but just feel nauseous all bloody day. I've tried ginger, miso soup, crackers etc. I've also tried using SeaBands. All I can manage to eat is salty crackers, plain cold rice, pitta bread or very salty Mc Donald's Fries (which my DH can't stand). I don't usually eat Mc Donald's!
Although I am so happy and blessed to be pregnant I'm finding it really hard. I can't do anything. Luckily I'm a teacher on summer holidays but this is getting unbearable.
Went to doctor and he said not to take medication unless actually vomiting. To be honest, I don't want to take medication anyway.
Please help with any tips!
XxX

Please ring these guys and speak to them. They are fabulous. The nausea can be utterly debilitating and sometimes worse than the vomiting! Don't let the GP fob you off, you could be put on cyclizine or promethezine for the nausea (safe antihistamines).

In the mean time, bland salty carbs are your friend. Ready salted crisps, biscuits, mash and gravy. And yes, beige junk food. Also sipping sugary drinks can help - flat Coke, lucosade etc.

Also, nobody wants to take medication. I totally relate to that, I felt really guilty and agonised over it. But do a bit of research into the drugs (like the antihistamines) and you might feel better about taking them if you need to. I respect if you don't and can manage, but sometimes there's no need to struggle. Pregnancy sickness can be awful,

Try to not have an empty stomach. Keep snacking.

I found the only thing I could do when it was really bad was to sleep and drink water. I had to take sick days from work / work from home as I couldn't move. Lots of little protein heavy meals are good.

It's worse when it's hot, you might feel better when the weather breaks.

The only thing that helped my sickness was Tea with 2 sugars and plain buttered toast, lemon and lime drinks also helped, I drank the flavoured water.
