Always hungry?

Hi Ladies,
I am 9 weeks pregnant and am finding that I am constantly hungry and that an apple or some crackers just won't do the trick. Initially I was eating to suppress the nausea and am now taking Stemetil which is working well enough to squash that, but find that I am now always hungry. If I don't eat when my tummy tells me to (which is pretty much every 30mins - an hour) I start to feel mild nausea until I have eaten again. I am worried about putting on more weight early on than is necessary and that this will continue throughout. Has anyone suffered with this and come up with some good tips/tricks to manage it? Please help if you have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Crackers, nuts, biscuits, fruit, ready salted crisps. I was the same all through first 12 weeks, don't worry about weight gain from a few snacks (I am not a snacker either and found it very hard) but your body is now a home not a temple lol, you will hopefully find yourself less hungry second tri and able to eat normally again, that's what I've found anyway! Enjoy the hormonal hunger excuse whilst you can :)

I've been insanely hungry for almost my whole pregnancy so far. Not nauseous, just really hungry all the time. It seems to have settled down a bit since I started the 3rd trimester (I seem to get by with fewer interim snacks) but I'm still eating big meals (including desserts!). But it feels right so I'm going with it Smile

@Leelee80 I'm just over 12 weeks and constantly hungry and have been since about 5weeks, I'm starting to eat more and enjoy food abit more now and I'm trying not to worry about putting weight on I could do with it tbh lol try not to worry

I was constantly hungry throughout pretty much the whole first trimester, it wasn't much fun as I was having to take sooo many snacks to work with me to satisfy the hunger. My usual snacks (fruit) did nothing at all, I wanted CARBS! It eased off a lot in the second trimester and my appetite is back to normal now (22 weeks). Don't worry about gaining weight, obv don't go crazy but baby is undergoing some big changes so it's all for a good cause Smile

I also had constant hunger through the first trimester. The only time I got any nausea at all was if I got too hungry. I had a near total aversion to anything sweet, so no cake or biscuits but also no fruit! The only things that I got really enthusiastic about were salty carbs, especially crisps or chips! I did resist as much as possible, but am expecting a telling off about weight gain from mw at my 16 week appt (currently 13+6). I kept assuming morning sickness would kick in but it just didn't! Sorry, no helpful suggestions but I did find it wore off in week 11 and am now eating more normally.

You need slow release carbs, brown bread, wholemeal pasta, quinoa, sweet potatoes etc. These keep you fuller for longer, yes fruits and veg are good for you but things like this is more filling when your pregnant and crave food.
