Hi,
I'm currently 9 weeks pregnant with dc2. I went for a private early scan last night with Dh for some reassurance as a born worrier!
We saw the heartbeat and was told everything looks good but sonographer said I am measuring 7 weeks and not 9.
I rang Midwife unit today and they just said it was nothing to worry about but I'm still worried!
My last period was 16th May and my cycle before that was 56 days! But previous cycles have always been around 28/29 days!
Thoughts if you can please Smile

Measuring such a tiny thing is a very fine art. Just a fraction out, and thec dates can change quite significantly.
Add to that the possibility that you conceived much later than predicted for your normal cycle due to the previous extended cycle length, and honestly, try to relax.

I had a series of early scans with one pregnancy, and in one 2 week gap "grew" just a few days. I questioned it, baby wriggled, and on remeasurement he had "grown" about 10 days.

Congrats on your pregnancy.

You will be more accurately dated at 12 weeks scan

Thanks for your reply. I was just so relieved when they said it was a heartbeat and then in the next breath she said you're only 7 weeks. Just another thing to worry about!
Your experience sounds very positive to fingers crossed!

I had to go to the EPU a few times between 6-12 weeks, for a couple of problems.
The date did change during that time, and I was always told to just wait til the later official dating scan to get a better picture.
I was worried too the first time.

I had the same when I went to the epu, then when I went for my 12 weeks scan I was actually 14 weeks instead of the 11+2 I would of been from the dates the epu gave me.
My midwife said to take their measurements with 'a pinch of salt' as their priority is to make sure baby's ok Smile
Congratulations!

That has made me feel so much better thank you! I thought I would be less worried second time round but am more anxious for some reason! I think knowing too much about the bad things that can happen is not helpful! Blush
