What's Heartburn?

Hahahahahahaha.

I laughed into my gaviscon manically as DH looked genuinely perplexed at my response to his question. 36 weeks and this heartburn thing needs to stop, especially with lack of sleep and so late at night/early in the morning.

Anyone else in the same boat or found any preventatives (please, please share if so!)?

Morrisons own brand fruit flavour antacid tablets. At 25 weeks they are currently saving my life, nothing else has worked for me. Heartburn is the reason I'm currently awake! Sad

Thank you! I'm open to anything right now. If you told me there was a naked dance ritual, I'd give it a go Grin

I don't know if all these pregnancy symptoms are a lesson to prepare and give us sympathy for the LO!? The sickness, the not sleeping, the reflux...

I'm feeling that. I'm 34 weeks and this is the first time I've ever experienced heart burn it's horrible. The worst is waking up at 3am wanting to vomit fire.
Nothing works that I have found. However eating before bed time makes it soooo much worse so I try my best not to snack too much in the evening. Before I go upstairs I'll eat 4 tablets, just the cheap ones from co op and have a massive glug of gaviscon. I did find that the peptic stuff from the doctor worked better than gaviscon as it was a thicker consistancy, but I've ran out of that.
I'm yet to find anything that gets rid of it.

I had this during pregnancy. I was prescribed omeprazole and it worked really well!
