Hi all,

I'm nine weeks today and for the last couple of days have had the worst bloating/indigestion starting each afternoon.

This evening, I have a very swollen and distended belly - so much so that husband has been wondering if we're having a litter instead of a single baby!

Is this normal? I have my booking appointment on Thursday night so was going to mention them but just wondered if anyone had experienced this early and if so, if you had any tips to relieve it!

Thanks 😊

Yes, yes and yes!! Bloating, burping, reflux, feeling like I'm going to burst and the rest! Almost 9 weeks. For me - rest, splitting evening meal in two, noting what bloats me and generally trying to relax when I can helps. Also easy to digest foods like chicken soup and smoothies.

Yep, completely normal. I suffered the same too! I found it was because I wasn't going to the toilet properly as a result of the pregnancy Vitamins. It always eased when I'd managed to go.

Hi f1sher,

Even though it is normal to bloat during the advanced stages of your pregnancy you can follow a few home remedies to relieve yourself. You can:
Maintain a food diary, Eat foods-rich in fiber, Exercise, Go Yoga Way, Food Choice, Avoid Stressful Situations, Wear Comfortable Clothes
Fenugreek Seeds
Soak a spoon of fenugreek seeds in water for 6 to 7 hours. Discard the seeds and drink the water to keep bloating and flatulence and away
Water, Water, Water
Drink 10-12 glasses of water daily. Whenever you drink do it from a glass or a cup, avoid using a straw or even do not drink directly from a bottle

Hate to say it, third trimester (more so the last few weeks) is the worst for it. I haven't eaten or drunk much but I make a swishing noise when I move too quickly at the moment 😂 Super bloated! You'll be happy to know it wears off in the middle of pregnancy for a bit.

Thanks everyone! Feels better to know I'm not alone.

@G1988, I have noticed I'm not as "regular" as I normally am, so that can't be helping!

I'll start a food diary today to see if I can spot a trigger. Hope everyone feels better soon 😊
