I had my DS after two rounds for IUI. TTC for 2.5 years with the only possible cause of infertility being my uterine lining not being sufficient (I had extremely light periods). We would like another baby fairly soon and I don't know whether I should be preparing myself and our bank balance for more fertility treatment or if anyone has found that they found it easier to conceive the second time. Our consultant said that sometimes pregnancy 'cures' infertility but I don't know if she was just being nice.

We didn't need fertility treatment but it took a year to conceive DD. I am now 5 weeks pregnant with second. Who took approximately two weeks Blush

What have your periods been like since having DS? I think being pregnant definitely 'reset' my hormones. During the year it took to conceive DD, my cycles ranged between 23 and 31 days and I only really bled for about two days. Since having DD, my cycles were like clockwork every 27/28 days and had a proper six-day bleed.

Good luck Flowers

Yes.
Took four years and clomid to conceive my first. Number two first month of trying and not using any fertility drugs. Number three was conceived after three months of trying and again no fertility drugs.

We needed to use clomid to conceive, as I wasn't ovulating. DS is now 2, and I'm currently pregnant. We went down the route of TTC without medical help, this time around, and fell pregnant on the first month of trying! It took us 4 years to have our DS. GP wouldn't refer us for 2 years, and it took a while for them to find out the problem.. so it was a big surprise to fall pregnant so quickly!

Not me personally but I know 3 women who had IVF for baby #1 and went on to conceive naturally after. In one case they had 2 more and another had 3 more!

Yes!!! I had limited periods and really struggled to find fertile week first time round cos would have like 3 sporadic periods a year. Referred for chlomid etc conceived. Since she was 6 weeks old ive had periods 4 weekly as if she fixed me!! Im now 30 weeks woth 2nd who we conceived on first cycle of trying!! Good luck!!

Not me but a good friend of mine had fertility treatment with first then went on to have two more naturally fairly quickly and a client friend of mine had her second naturally after struggling for years and having IVF so two people top of my head but probably more if I really think about it.

The other way round - I became pregnant naturally with DC1 whilst going through rounds of IVF (I had endometriosis.)
DC2 was a baby conceived with the help of clomid.
Infertility is a horrible thing to go through - you have my sympathies.
But, you never know what is around the corner.
Good luck.

Yes, me - twice. DC1 involved 2.5 years of fertility treatment, miscarriage etc culminating in a successful pregnancy after IVF#2. His birth eventually kickstarted the periods that had stopped ten years previously and I conceived DS2 and DD1 over the next 3 years.

Thank you for all your comments, it's made me feel much more hopeful!
I've not had my period back yet as I'm still breastfeeding but hoping pregnancy might have sorted my hormones out. I was on the pill for 10 years prior to TTC and wonder if that had anything to do with my periods not returning properly.
