Has anyone had one? I think it'll be ny next option as at 34 weeks baby is still transverse. Did it work? Was it painful? Is it worth hanging on and hoping she turns herself? Thanks :)

DD was doing acrobatics regularly. Ecv not at all painful - the injection was by far the worst bit. She turned easily. Then she turned back and continued to do more turning acrobatics right up until the end.

When do midwives get concerned if babys not head down then? Im 30 weeks n transverse so jumping on your thread

I am 34 weeks also and I haven't been told what position baby is in yet, at my last apt 3 weeks ago my midwife just said oo I think that's a pair of knees there. When do they start checking the position? Also is transverse sideways? Sorry for all qs xx

I had one with dc2. He flipped himself over at 37 1/2wks after being head down for several weeks before that.
So he was turned at 38 weeks. I was offered c section or an attempt at ECV and nearly went for the section as I was concerned about complications. The dr said he might not have enough room to turn and was more likely to become distressed so I had to take my hospital bag in case they had to do an emergency section.
It was honestly a breeze, baby was fine and arrived at 40 weeks exactly. The muscle relaxant makes you feel a bit weird though..not bad just odd.

Lelly - my midwife feels at each appt, so every two weeks now. I can tell she's transverse (sideways) myself too as there's a hard, round bit under my right ribcage - her head, and another, slightly larger hard round area towards my left rib cage (her bum)! :)
Fairy - my midwife told me that by 35/6 weeks they'd be expecting baby to be had down and if not they'd think about ECV to hopefully get her there. :)
3boys - in what way did the injection make you feel weird? Physically, mentally, other?? Did it make you feel sick? Where do they inject? Thanks :)
My concerns are there's only apparently a 50 odd % success rate and there can be complications!
