Im 30 weeks. Went for gp appointment todyat and mentioned ongoing period pains and some leakage yesterday, so have spent the day at the assessment centre. Been tested for amniotic fluid and for pre-term labour (both negative) and discharged. Still getting contractions every two mins. Is this a normal thing??

No advice I'm afraid but I've got this too, been up delivery suite twice, had tests for labour/waters and was told the same as you... they did mention an possible irritable uterus but nothing else. Infection has been ruled out as well.
Maybe you have that too?

Ok thanks i guess its possible. Ruled out infection etc here too. Do you keep getting contractions or on and off in bursts?

Sounds exactly the same! Yeah I do, sometimes worry it's labour but it never goes anywhere further. I asked the midwife how I would know the real deal, she said contractions would last longer than a minute each time and would be very painful.
If I followed nhs guidance though I would be up the hospital most days! Not sure there's anything they can do to help but you could mention it at your next midwife appointment and see what they say

Yes i asked the same thing at hosp today and doc said he couldnt answer how i would know when to call.... Bit concerning at 30 weeks. How far along are you and when did it start?

Yeah is a bit frustrating! I'm 34+5 today, can't remember exactly when it first started but the first time I went to delivery suite was around 24 ish weeks cos the contractions were fairly constant for about 4 hours, funnily enough, it stopped as soon as I got to the hospital! How long have you been like this for?

Jellybabie3 · 18/07/2017 06:52

Gosh thats early, you poor thing. Ive only had this since saturday. Had them for a couple of hours sat night then quite a lot of discharge sunday (sorry tmi). Went to doc monday for 31 week appointment and as soon as I mentioned it he was worried i had had a hind membrane rupture and was going into preterm labour. Had another wave at the hosp every 2min for the hour i was being monitored. Scary, but apparently i am not going into labour. Still getting them now...4 1/2 weeks of work to go! Just like you, have no idea what to look for now 😕
