Third trimester tiredness

Is it just me or are you third trimester ladies SO exhausted...even having a shower seems a huge effort. Last week I managed to do a few hours of jobs each day, yet today I have laid down all day!!! I feel so lazy but just cannot get going. Please tell me I'm not alone and it is acceptable? 36 weeks here xx

I feel the same. Sooo tired. I've had a busy couple of weeks and had various hosting/social occasions which has meant I've been rushing around and I feel like I just want to lie on the floor and not get up. Can't do that as I have two kids to look after!
It's going to be a long 3rd trimester!

inspiredbutohsotired · 17/07/2017 15:13

It's 3pm now and I've left the house for the first time today - 37+5.
I slept in until 9, got up and had breakfast, sat watching Breaking Bad until about 11, got dressed and put on some makeup aiming to go out to the shops... fell back asleep until 2pm. Now I'm waiting for my midwife appointment. Feeling very useless and exhausted but I figure I might as well sleep as much as I can if I need it!

EssentialHummus · 17/07/2017 15:26

Yup. 33 weeks here and trying to work + manage a renovation. Both are getting done slowly and badly.

BellyBean · 17/07/2017 15:31

I'd deliberately left loads of jobs and prep for the three weeks before my due date once my mat leave started as everything takes three times as long with a 3 yo under my feet.

But now I'm here I'm knackered!

NinaMarieP · 17/07/2017 15:38

Yep. 38 weeks today and totally knackered.

Was doing pretty well until I finished work at 36 weeks and then it seemed to just hit me.

Long lie, then get up and maybe put on a washing or pottering about doing bits and pieces and then I'm more than ready for a nap.

It's frustrating as I had a load of books I wanted to read before the baby comes and stuff like that but I'm too bloody tired half the time.

God knows how anyone manages this with a toddler to take care of too.

FinalPush · 17/07/2017 16:41

If this is your first and you're feeling guilty for lie ins, box sets and naps please don't and just enjoy! You'll need the rest when you go into labour and it will be the only time you can mooch around at home for a long time!
So put your feet up and put that kettle back on!

vickifaith · 17/07/2017 16:48

Thanks for the replies ladies!! Feel bad you are feeling so terrible , but equally feel glad I'm not the only one!! I can't help but feel guilty! You are right though I shouldn't and I should just enjoy it. It's a killer!! So swollen, out of breath and exhausted! Can see the house getting messier and it's driving me mad xxx

I'm just over 30 weeks and bloody exhausted, I could just lay in bed all day. I was still working by this point with DD and seemed to manage so well, this time I just find everything so hard, doing too much actually makes me feel like I could faint with exhaustion.

0htooooodles · 17/07/2017 19:03

37 weeks here and even just doing the hoovering and I'm knackered. Thank god school run finishes this week, and I only have 3 more days at work till I'm on maternity leave Grin

joojoobean99 · 17/07/2017 19:35

32 weeks and everything is exhausting. DH has told me to go to bed for the next 8 weeks and he'll wake me up when my c section is due! Grin

chelle85 · 17/07/2017 20:06

I've taken the approach of just powering through which has been working well for me but the second I then sit down I just want to sleep! And then I wake up every hour for the loo!

Milliemoo37 · 17/07/2017 20:12

I've just hit 29weeks and all of a sudden the exhaustion has hit. 🙁
I work full time in a retail store, I've been managing work and home jobs just fine but now I can't handle it all of a sudden! I'm dreading the next 11weeks.

auberginesandcourgettes · 17/07/2017 20:18

29 weeks here and it has just hit me in the last week too. Have a toddler to look after, work and lots of decorating to do. Not sure how I'm going to manage even one of those at the moment.

FinalPush · 17/07/2017 21:12

I'm nearly 32 wks but it definitely hit me out of nowhere at around 28-29 weeks too. First sign was suddenly just really hungry and then exhaustion. Like hitting a brick wall!

vickifaith · 17/07/2017 22:26

JooJooBean lucky you! What a husband!!! It also hit my at 30 weeks - I'm sure I wasn't this bad with my DD- but that was 13 years ago! Don't know how some of you are still working xx

I try to walk every day but I can't anymore. I feel so lazy but I'm so fucking tired. 35/36sh weeks xxxx

Beachbaby2017 · 18/07/2017 00:12

I'm tired too, it started around 28 weeks. Increasing my iron supplement (advised by my OB) has helped, apparently it's pretty hard to maintain your iron levels through pregnancy. I'm still tired, just less crushingly so.

Kittysparks1 · 18/07/2017 04:12

Yep I'm knackered. But it's paired with insomnia. Yey. It's 4am, I've been tossing and turning for an hour and I've decided to get out of bed now. Try and deal with the heart burn!
I have low iron too so this probably plays into it somewhere.
I started maternity leave this week, early I'm 34 weeks, and I've had the last 2 weeks off as annual leave and I'm so glad. If I manage to get dressed on any given day it's an achievement. Also I've not left my house for a week due to extreme swelling and/or the hot weather.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to have muscle wastage by time baby is out if I carry on!
Again I don't know how you ladies with kids already are doing this. Super mums.

hayser33 · 18/07/2017 08:00

I feel better to hear that I'm not the only one struggling. I feel like such a weak rubbish person ,I'm trying not to moan all the time but I just feel really down on myself amd tired.
Im 31 weeks and have a few more weeks left at work but I'm really struggling with it plus I have got vv fat,I was over weight before I got pregnant but I'm now 14.8 heaven knows how much more ill gain ..I'm hoping breastfeeding with help me lose it !!
So not feeling very good about myself!!

Crackerdawn · 29/04/2018 15:14

I wake up shattered, im shattered all day, then go to bed shattered. My body is struggling.
