Help me get labour started!!
Went at 38 wks with DS with a speedy 1.5 hour labour.
Getting worried now, as well as incredibly bored.
Already had 3 curries this week, plenty of raspberry leaf tea and and 2 pineapples....

Curries three nights on the trot did it for me..... Also took rasp leaf tablets as well as the lovely tea.

Just helping to keep this bumped for you.

Fab name BTW. Good luck.

thank you bigegg.
I never thought I would feel this fed up!
I don't want to be induced, so any tips are most welcome!
I am definately having a hot curry tonight

Hi Square Sausage - any room in that boat for me? Very fed up too, and keep stopping and starting. (due next week) A bikini wax did it for me with DS1, but have also tried sex, driving at speed up and down potholed roads, walking with one foot on the kerb and one in the gutter (told to me by a midwife - but I think more for her amusement as she watched me trudge round the hospital car park.....). Mum says have a stiff drink - apparently she had 1/2 a glass of sherry and I turned up 12 hours later (I've always liked to stand my round . Good luck! Hope it goes smoothly.

SquareSausage · 25/03/2007 18:05

Need to be a big boat!
A stiff drink sounds very appealing...

SquareSausage · 25/03/2007 18:08

sex, nipple stim and visualisation.....

SquareSausage · 25/03/2007 18:10

Do you visualise about sex?

I have been trying this lulu, but still fed up!

Seriously, what do you visualise?

OP posts:
snipersmum · 25/03/2007 18:12

doesn't the nipple stimulation have to go on for 3 hours or so? Almost as boring as being overdue, if that is true!!!!!!! , oh poo, my children have found me, have to go.

lulumama · 25/03/2007 18:13

not that long, no !!!

visualise the birth, the cervix opening, the baby being born, whatever works for you !!

and a drink wouldn;t hurt ! glass of wine in the bath, do your visualisation...

natural induction tips here

babies tend to come when they are ready, so might aswell just chill

SquareSausage · 25/03/2007 18:17

Thanks for the link lulu!
So, it's a 3 hour sex, nipple stim, bathing session with plenty of wine.
LETS GO!!

better name the baby after me if it works ! LOL!!

Spidermama · 25/03/2007 18:17

I would find a nice big hill and stomp up it then come home and eat a gorgeous big curry.

Good luck with it squareS.

SquareSausage · 25/03/2007 18:21

Thank You!
Look out for the "is this it started thread!"

I am in the same boat as you - although overdue now by 5 days. Had v.spicy curries last 3 nights running and sex too. Also been out walking lots each day. Think it's working, contractions started this morning, bit all over the place but towards this evening coming every 10 mins so hoping all the effort has paid off. Good luck for when your turn comes...soon I hope

Eaglebird · 25/03/2007 19:21

Oooooooooh, I wouldn't dare have curry 3 nights in a row. I'd worry about pushing & gassing the midwife in the process .
I'm sure they must be used to women farting on them, though

SquareSausage · 25/03/2007 19:59

Good luck ducdo - I'm just waiting for my garlic tikka masala now!
I never thought about the farting issue though!

any news ss?

Chocolatepenny · 26/03/2007 18:49

Square I was due last thursday, and I am going MAD too!
have tried all the below now resigned to a life attached to a giant bump.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 26/03/2007 19:42

It's apparently the cumin in curry that is suppoed to get things stared.

Cumin sandwich, Chocolatepenny?

SquareSausage · 28/03/2007 15:49

I've had a membrane sweep yesterday and it was really sore!
Still no sign though!
I had another curry last night and still no twinges.
I'm also resigned to life with a masive bump choc!

ducdo · 05/04/2007 13:05

pleased to say my bump finally arrived on 26 March after the 3 curries and sex over the weekend! all well and glad it's over, now dealing with sore nipples, no pelvic floor and sleepless nights but love my little boy! Good luck to other new mums who's bumps have since arrived!
