So i dont know if i am being paranoid but i have been walking around for a couple of hours just nipped to the loo and my knickers are very wet. I have noticed increased discharge since being preg so have been wearing liners but my knickers all around the liner is also wet. I am now worried its amniotic fluid.

Last night i had braxton hicks for a good hour. Felt like baby was pushing really low for first time and belly was really hard. Stopped after that though.

Is it normal for fluid to increase so much??

I have dr appointment 9am tomorrow luckily...

What colour is the fluid and what does it smell like?

Jellybabie3 · 16/07/2017 13:11

I had this and ended up going up to the hospital to get checked. They told me it's really common to have very watery discharge and they regularly have women in thinking their waters have broken early. The chances of it being your waters are slim but I would give the midwife a call to put your mind at ease. Good luck!

Always worth calling your midwife. Best to be on the safe side and get checked

Give the midwife a ring just to be sure but if it wasn't pink tinged or bloody and it's not pouring out of you it's unlikely to be waters.

If it is waters there'll be more. Keep drinking lots and sniff the next lot. If it smells a bit sweet and like hay then it may be waters.

Glamorous stuff this making babies business Grin

OP call your hospital if you are worried and they will advise you on what to do next.

If it helps, I am PG with DC2 and am currently going through 2 or 3 changes of drawers per day for this reason - it has just been discharge and sweat from the heat for me - such a sexy business, pregnancy.

I had this when pregnant with dc1 at 38 weeks and it turned out my back waters had broken (didn't even know there was 2 until this happened!!) and it was more like a constant trickle and lots of wet knickers but not the big dramatic gush of front waters.

Dc was born with an infection because my back waters had been broken for 3 days before they induced me (they told me they hadn't and I went back 2 days later to be told they had), he spent a week in nicu.

It's more likely to be nothing but I would suggest you get checked
