I done 4 home pregnancy tests and each came back positive I went to both the sexual health clinc and the doctors and some pregnancy tests there and they both confirmed I was pregnant I went to the hospital to discuss with my doctor what risks there was during my pregnancy as I have been ill previously and I was unsure of how far I am as my periods where irregular when they done the scan they could only see a tightly sealed sack the yoke but no fetal pole!? They told me it was unclear of the results and they don't know if my body will continue the pregnancy or not they said it may not start to develop or it could be just be far to early to detect the baby on screen? Has this ever happened to any of you? They have asked me to go back in two weeks time to be re scanned... WHAT DO I DO IN THE MEANTIME!? I don't want to sit at home worrying as everything may turn out fine but than I also don't want to get my hopes up incase I'm let down and would be really upset .. 2 of my sisters went a few years back and the same thing happens to them but when they went back few weeks later the seen the baby there and there children are now happy little toddlers! I'm just hoping and praying it's going to be okay but does anyone have and advice tips or previous experiences that may help?

Are they not doing blood tests to monitor HCG (or HGC?) levels atm? I received those at the start of my current pregnancy to ensure everything was progressing (previous ectopic and MC before that).

Unfortunately all you can do at this stage is wait and see. If you start bleeding or having painful period type cramps call your EPU immediately, they should take you in and scan again (though I imagine by the sounds of it you are less than 6 weeks and it's an internal scan they will do.)

Best of luck and hope everything turns out fine Flowers

This happened to me in my first pregnancy although i had some bleeding hence the early scan. I had to wait 10 days for a second scan, I honestly think they were the worst 10 days of my life. It took us a year to get pregnant and I desperately wanted that baby.

He's 19 months old and fast asleep upstairs now.

It's going to be a crappy wait, there's nothing you can do about it. Just be kind to yourself and try your very best to distract yourself.

The same happened to me. I went in and they couldn't confirm it was a viable pregnancy, two weeks later I did a scan and they scan an embryo in the sack and saw the babies heart beat. 25 weeks pregnant now!
