Intense back pain

Hello,

I've had intense back pain start on my lower right hand side. It's very uncomfortable. The midwife advised the baby is in a back to back position and he has always sat on the right hand side.

I'm 39 weeks so wondered if anyone experienced this as a start of labour or am i being hopeful. I don't seem to be experiencing anything else apart from a sudden cold.

Thank you

I had to go in for a check up because of pains down my back and right side. It's always good to check in to see but with mine it's because baby is growing/lying on a nerve/tendent on that side :-( sadly no labour here! X

Thank you for your reply I imagine it's probably something similar for me as I don't have any other signs. My midwife appointment is tomorrow so I will mention it to her.

Yeah I had a moment sitting on the floor in the corridor crying because of the pain and then thought "oh could this be labour" but yeah no other signs but it's really important to check as it could be ! Xxx

I had a back to back labour with my first, you do get back pain with it, but the pain is so bad you would definitely know your in labour, I was in slow labour for days, in the end I couldn't handle to pain, but I was 4cm dilated so they kept me in anyway, I also got a really bad cold before I went into labour with both my pregnancies, good luck x
