Hi everyone, I'm 21+1 weeks and I haven't felt my baby move at all yet! I had my 20 week scan last week and everything was fine, baby wriggling around etc. However everyone keeps asking me (including dicots sonographers etc) if I have felt baby move yet but nothing! I try laying down , drinking cold water, I don't even feel the fluttering feeling everyone says about . It's not that I've felt baby before and now less , I have just never felt him and now I'm worried something is wrong. Has anyone else had this? Thank you

It's not a concern until after 25 wks

Hi, am 21 weeks and 2 days and totally the same. I don't think I have felt the baby move or have had any of these flutter feels everyone talks about. I asked my midwife about this and she assured me as the pregnancy goes on you will definitely notice. You must have midwife appointment coming up soon. They will check the baby's heart beat then but honestly I wouldn't worry. This is my first baby and everyone tells me am just not noticing the signs yet because I don't really know what they going to be like. Any concerns phone your midwife 😊

Thanks for your replies! Does put my mind at rest. My next appointment is at 24 weeks so I will mention it then. Everyone just seems so surprised when I say no. Glad to know I'm not the only one !

You might have a placenta which is at the front of the uterus, thereby blocking any feeling of movements at this stage. Don't worry, you know baby is fine, just hang on in there and you'll probably start feeling kicks pretty soon!

I never really felt DD move until 26 weeks or so, and even then it wasn't much. I was worried there was something wrong, but she's absolutely fine! It can be to do with how the baby is lying, or where the placenta is. In my case, DD was really low down (basically on my bladder, so I constantly needed to pee!).

DS was always much more active.

Do you have an anterior placenta? I believe that can mask movements a bit?

Babyblues14 · 13/07/2017 17:05

24 weeks I felt my first movements, they did ask at earlier appointments if I had felt anything but didnt seem concerned when I said no x

Thanks everyone! I know on my scan notes it does say high anterior placenta.
