Multiple concerns about baby & no answers

Hi,

I am 31 weeks pregnant and in an awful situation with antenatal testing and results. Our baby had thick nuchal pad at 20 weeks but amnio & microarray came back normal. Had extra scan at 28 weeks for 'reassurance' but unfortunately polyhydramnios & club feet were detected. I had GTT test and am not diabetic, also had TORCH test & no infections. Had mri scan and although everything else looked fine, they said baby has extra fluid surrounding brain. No increased ventricles and brain itself looks fine, but not fully filling the skull space. There has been mention of underdeveloped brain & possible associated learning difficulties but no-one really seems to know if it's something to worry about or nothing at all. This is also not visable on ultrasound where everything apparently looks normal with brain. We are currently awaiting 4th opinion from specialist. Baby's femur is now also measuring short but polyhydramnios has settled and I am measuring about 9.7 max liquor pool.

They keep saying they've not seen a case like this before so very difficult to tell us if anything actually wrong (apart from club feet which has been confirmed and we are fine about), or if it's nothing.

My main worry is the brain, has anyone else been told anything similar after foetal mri and what was the outcome? I am beside myself with worry. Thanks

This must be so stressful for you Flowers. I dont have any direct experience but have you visited the Antenatal Results and Choices website (www.arc-uk.org). they have a helpline and a forum where you can access support, and there might be people in a similar situation. I hope you get some answers soon, and a positive outcome! Xx

Flowers so sorry to read what you're going through, I'm close to you in weeks and it's must be so frustrating not getting any answers. Again, like pp, no direct experience but ARC are a very good resource for further information and support.
