Should I call the midwife?

So last night for 2/3 hours I had contractions, they were painful but not unbearable. I fell asleep and they'd stopped when I'd woken up. Then today I don't feel like she's moved as much, she has moved but feel like it's a less than usual. Should I call the midwife? Or my day assessment unit? Not sure if I'm just being paranoid

I'd phone the assessment unit

Never a wasted phone call during pregnancy. . .

vroc81 · 12/07/2017 11:23

Call your midwife or DAU they always said to me (and I ended up going in for bp checks so I heard it said to lots of people) they rather you went and wasted their time than not..

How many weeks are you?

I think I'd phone the midwife for advice.

alicelake · 12/07/2017 11:24

I'm 38+1 x

Any change in movements or patterns should be checked. Definitely call your maternity assessment unit.

Blizy · 12/07/2017 11:31

Yes, call up the hospital. They will ask you in for monitoring. Hope everything is ok.

EpoxyResin · 12/07/2017 11:53

Get yourself up to the MAU - it's a chore but it's the best thing to do to get checked, and you'll be able to relax again knowing you've been in. They will 100% be happy to see you.

Thanks ladies. Being monitored now! They think she may be a large baby so am being booked in for growth scan Confused x

@alicelake how did everything go yesterday?

GlitteryFluff · 13/07/2017 10:54

Hope all is well.

alicelake · 13/07/2017 11:25

All well! Ended up being monitored for quite a while as she slept. Then when she woke she made me out to be a liar and didn't stop moving haha. But regardless I have to have another scan tomorrow because they think she's quite big and because I'm a previous second she said 'we don't want you pushing out a 10lb baby and putting too much pressure on the scar tissue' x

Glad things went well, good luck with your scan.

BringMeTea123 · 13/07/2017 13:06

Yeah it's never worth the risk to not call and get checked over! Glad everything is ok. Hope your scan goes well tomorrow x
