37 weeks irregular contractions ouch!

37 weeks, irregular but quite painful/uncomfortable contractions. Worse when I stand or walk. Is this labour or not? Haven't had any signs of my show or waters but had neither with first labour either! (Until they broke my waters at the hospital). I feel really unsure if it's early labour or not. Any advice?

Sounds like Braxton Hicks - they can get quite painful towards the end. Not a sign of labour on their own, but if they become regular and close together (few mins apart) then head to the hospital. Other signs it might all be kicking off are bloody show, diarrhea, waters breaking (can be just a trickle sometimes).

If you're really worried call your midwife, better safe than sorry and it'll put your mind at ease.
