Hello, I had the measurements taken at my 13+6 scan for Down syndrome I'm guessing behind the babies necks, which measured at a low risk amount, but then I had a blood test and I'm just wondering if I get a letter? A phone call? When? And do they tell you results? If anyone can help xx

I've always had a letter with the blood test results. It usually arrives in 2-3 weeks and will include your risk levels for Down's, Edward's and Patau.

I was told if there was anything high risk they'd phone within a few days otherwise it would be something in the post within a couple of weeks

Hi @salsasalsa i got a letter 8 days after my scan. They said they would call if there's a problem...
The letter included all 3 of the results.

Think the process/times may vary slightly at different hospitals?!

Thank you everyone, well its sounds like I would definitely hear something either way then so that's the main thing :) xx

I had my scan 21st June and the blood tests done the same day and I'm still waiting for the letter. She did say usually if it's a "higher risk" you would hear in about 8 days, all regions could be different though. X

In my area it is a phone call within 48 hours if you are high risk and a letter in about a week if low risk.

With all mine it was call within three working days if I was high risk and then after that if not just a wait for the letter.

Those three days were always nerve shredding especially as the bloods always seemed to be taken at the end of a working week.
