31+1 heartburn and vomiting help

Hi everyone

Hoping someone might have some tips for me.

I am 31 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing severe heartburn to the point where I feel I may pass out. This is all day every day no matter whether I eat rich or plain foods.

Between 9 and 17 weeks I experienced severe hyperemesis, which eventually eased off. I am now throwing up again but it feels as though this is due to compression of everything in there rather than the sickliness I had before. But alongside the heartburn the vomiting is making me fed up already - with what seems like a long way to go to the arrival of my baby.

I'm assuming this is common and wondered - what helped you? Either dietary, sleeping tips, coping tips or any practical advice would be so welcome!

Thank you xx

Ive had hardcore heartburn during do vomiting bile and what not. I got given pills, figured out foods that set it off (mainly tomatoey sauces like in pasta or pizza) but I've also been eating ice and sleeping sitting slightly up with pillows has helped too xxx

Are you taking anything for it? I had hyperemesis and severe reflux until 20 weeks, and like you I now have the reflux back and sickness too (I'm 32 + 3). If you're not already on them, ask your doc for some Omeprazole. I also find if I have a couple of rennie tablets before bed with some water that helps too. Try not to lie down too soon after eating a meal either, but do make sure you eat a reflux-friendly dinner a couple of hours before bed!

I've got HG and terrible heartburn/reflux. The reflux definitely makes the sickness worse. My GP also gave me Omerprazole, which had helped a great deal. Definitely get some of that and take it regularly (I really notice if I miss a dose)

Omeprazole makes a massive difference. I can lie down without vomiting now!

When you're at the doctors make sure they check your BP and urine. I had what they thought was severe heartburn and vomiting and it turned out to be the start of pre eclampsia. Hopefully not it's nothing serious for you but well worth making sure. Good luck.
