Telling work just after probation period review... help please xx

Please help anyone.
I had a few early scans and then my 12 week scan wasn't booked until I was 14 weeks (last Friday).
All was well at that scan (MCDA twin pregnancy), so that then would've been my go ahead to tell work, so I could tell everyone else.
However, timing has been atrocious, tomorrow is my 6 month probation review (final one) and I didn't then want to go in to work last Friday and say, as I knew my review was this Tuesday.
I think now it would be best to tell work after my review (it's all just exceptionally bad timing) but when I do say I'm pregnant a few days later (probably this Friday) it's just so obvious I waited for my review, is there anything anyone thinks I can say to not make me look like a complete idiot? Just feel like it's making me look really sly and sneaky, that I started my job January, started trying in Feb and got pregnant April, and tell them straight after my review... and I really like my job and my other two reviews have been fine, I'm just not the type of person who takes the mic and this is exactly what it feels like I'm doing! But I'm not it's just such unfortunate timing Blush Help help help xx

You're not taking the mic, you're pregnant! Head held high, don't apologise for being pregnant, you've done nothing wrong.

Definitely tell them after the review. Do the meeting as normal, get the paperwork and then tell them. I'm sure they'll understand, but make sure you have your review in writing first. Congratulations!

You're not taking the mick, you're protecting your interests.

I had the same thing OP- found out I was pregnant a few days before my six month review and didn't say anything.

I waited until my appointment at 8 weeks before telling my boss straight after- she was delighted for me, but even if she wasn't and thought I'd been sly and sneaky I wouldn't have given a shit to be honest. Women getting pregnant is part of life and I had a responsibility to my family to ensure we were as financially stable as possible- if that meant delaying telling work for a week or two then so be it!

Thank you everyone. Should I get something after that review in writing for definite do you think? I really want to have said to work by Friday, but don't want to pester for it in writing if it was perhaps going to take my line manager a week or so? I know he goes on holiday this month so just want it out there! I will be 15 weeks next sat and my stomach is getting very obvious too xx
