Intense pain after orgasm. 6 weeks.

Hello everyone,

This is a little embarrassing but I just experienced intensely painful cramps after I had an orgasm. We didn't have sex but I am so worried. They lasted about 5 mins. I've read this is normal but can they be this painful?! I'm so confused, please reassure me! Thank you!

An orgasm causes small contractions of the uterus, so this could be why. They are completely normal, and should go within the first trimester.

It's your uterus contracting, I have it sometimes after orgasm, try not to worry x

I've had this is 2 out of 3 pregnancies all the way from 5/6 weeks til full term.

I had these in my first pregnancy. Didn't know what the hell was wrong with me as I didn't even know I was pregnant at the time. I was told they are completely normal and mine stopped at about 12 weeks.

Yep I had then, in fact by my 3rd pregnancy it was how I knew I was pregnant before I even tested. Afraid to say in some it doesn't go away, it continues the whole pregnancy for me but my orgasms were extra intense too so was worth it haha

I had this! Was pretty painful, think it went after 12 or so weeks.

I had this before and during pregnancy so badly that the pain made me throw up! I never found out what I was but I've only ever had it 2 times!! x

You're all doing marvellously well having sex in first trimester. Sex is furthest thing from my mind!

Oh i had the same. Totally freaked out. Put me off for ages. It does go though!

Had this with my first and it was my first sign of pregnancy with the baby I'm currently pregnant with. I knew before testing because of this. Mine were so painful, I thought I would pass out. Sex was off the table for a good few weeks. Hubby was so worried about it hurting. Positively tho at 14 weeks, things are back to normal.

100% normal (and annoying!). I had this in the first trimester only and it was horrible and worrying. Quickly went and by the second trimester had no problems at all x
