Just found out I'm 5 weeks pregnant and I'm wondering what everyone takes as the vitamins as I suffer from nausea at the best of times not being pregnant! I've heard some horror stories so I need some help! I've herd vitamin b6 is the best to help treat morning sickness but I'd rather have the whole package! Thanks!!

I would avoid normal multivitamins as they include vitamin A and you should avoid high levels of that during pregnancy. I used a multivitamin intended for use during pregnancy (e.g. Pregnacare) as they include folic acid which you should be taking, however you can also get folic acid separately (as a supermarket own brand etc.) much cheaper.

Oh, and congratulations! Smile

Thank you! I've been taking pregnacare but I've heard it makes morning sickness worse?

Vitamin D and folic acid are the 2 recommended

I found the seven seas better than pregnacare, I thought the pregnacare had a weird after taste that I didn't like. I took mine at night which I found better. Folic acid is the must have so I'd take that on its own if you can't stomach the multivits.

I took pregnacare for most of both of my pregnancies and then I went for a new pack and they didn't have any left in Boots. I'm really lazy so instead of going to another shop I bought Boots own. They include ginger and they really helped with my sickness! They come with the omega three capsules as well.

I'm definitely less sick just taking vit d and folic acid individually rather than as a pregnancy vitamin.

Great thanks! Anyone tried milk thistle tablets or ginger tablets?
