Feeling like a blimp whale...

Hi mummas.....I'm 33 weeks with DC2 and I'm feeling like a huge blimp. I've gained about 33 lbs, and this is with moderate exercise 6x a week and eating pretty well. I've probably eaten too many biscuits though!!
I wake up in the morning feeling like 'me' until I look in the mirror. I went swimming this morning and saw myself in their mirror with my togs on and thought 'omg...what the heck'. I gained 85 with my first son and lost it ALL by about 5 months pp. but I feel like I'm losing muscle tone and feel so blobby. Anyone relate??

Yes OP: me! FTM and 31weeks - suddenly feeling huge (&looking it)! The heat doesn't help...
Got upset at the weekend because people kept saying I look "great" and like I haven't put on weight... I know it's hard to know what to say, but my reaction was "uhh, well I have put on weight! Did I look like this before?!?!" Haha.
Then one person I haven't seen since before I was pg saw me Yesterday and his reaction was "Look at you all plump!" ... and, yep; still not happy! So offended!! Haha silly emotional pg lady Grin

Ugh it's so hard isn't it. I don't mind the getting a bit bigger so much, but I feel so cumbersome. And yes people say to me 'you don't look like you've put on much weight' and yea I'm like 'OK, I don't usually look like moby dick.....haha 😂'. Not long now beanexpectin9. I can't wait to meet my little guy, all the best with the rest of your pregnancy xx

I'm really lucky to have only gained about 10lb and I'm 36+3 today but it's my first pregnancy and so I do catch sight of myself in the mirror and to "oh my god when did I get so big?" quite often.

All I heard for the last few weeks at work were "wow you're so big" and so on as well. Luckily it didn't ever upset me!

People just shouldn't comment on pregnant ladies' size, should they? There's no phrase that's safe!

Sasmac2017 · 07/07/2017 00:18

Haha Ninamarie, couldn't agree more!! You've done very well to only gain 10lbs! I think as I was quite small and lean prior my body needed to gain a bit extra. It's ok it will fall off. Doesn't help when you hear comments from your own dad like 'geez, your bums gotten bigger'.....thanks heaps dad. You're one in a million!

I started out quite overweight so I definitely didn't need to gain anything. Normally I pile on weight just by looking at food so I don't know how I've done it really!

For me it was my mum asking me if I was sure it wasn't twins at about 24 weeks, when I was measuring bang on according to the midwife. My dad knows better than to open his mouth!

Ninamarie; you have done really well to keep the weight gain minimal then we'll done :) I know some ladies who are bigger that get very huge by the end so you're wise to keep it down if possible. Omg my dad has no tact. I love him but have wondered if he's slightly Aspergers or something. No filter! I think he says it as knows I will be annoyed....men ay!
All the best and not long now :)
