Hi Ladies, around week 10 I got a bad cold, I managed to get better quite quickly but it left me with a sinus problem that seems incurable.

-I've tried saline spray. Didnt work.
-I've tried propping myself in bed-doesn't work.
-I've tried Beconase-works temporarily on one nostril, but I'm also aware it has steroids and it causes dependency, so and I am not entirely happy to use it every day.
-I've tried steam inhalation-works for the moment I am doing it. Stops working immediately.
-Steamy showers-nose clears during shower and is blocked straight after.
-I've tried vix-nothing/possibly made it worse.
-GP thought it might be an infection I was given a weeks amoxicillin. Stopped the sinus pressure headaches and dried up runny nose a little but not other improvements.

It clears a little if I stand and walk . It usually clears if I am outside.

This seems like a minor problem but it is making life hard for me. I am unable to get a good nights sleep, I wake up several times each night because i am simply unable to breath/then I breath through mouth only to be woken up by a sore dry throat.

Any advice on how to deal with this would be so greatly appreciated.

I have similar problems. Would recommend a neti pot, or neilmed sinus rinse bottle. Tricky to get the hang of at first but sooo good, they completely clear everything out! Be prepared to be a bit grossed out by the amount of stuff that will come out of your nose tho! ShockBlush

Also just to add, sinus issues and bloody noses are part and parcel of pregnancy, so not going to vanish, I guess it's just about trying to keep it under control.

I suffered really badly around the same time as you. The only thing that worked for me was a bowl of boiling hot water with a towel over my head. It's more to do with the increased blood flow causing swelling i think mine did go away though I think around 16 weeks but the headaches I had with it were so bad!

I've had a dreadful time with this, day time is annoying but okay, it was night when I was sleeping that it was the worst. Just couldn't breathe through my nose and so woke up like you with a dry thoat!

Someone recommended nasal strips for snorers which have worked a treat. I put on one as I go to bed as well as some vix on my chest and I haven't had any problems since!

These are the ones I got:

I'm 2 days overdue and had this since about 14 weeks!.
I'm desperate to have this baby as I'm really hoping my nose goes back to normal! I've not had a decent night sleep for 6 months and this has been the main factor!
I tried everything and have got through 4 bottles of sterimar, it works for me but only for a short time.
Sorry that moan wasn't any help!
