So this is day three of it.........😫😫😫😫 the joys of pregnancy!

Went to triage yesterday, after not sleeping nor eating much and being in pain.

Baby is fine, but they told me to continue to take paracetamol, drink peppermint tea, move etc then sent me on my merry way.

I've had to call in sick today and feel quite poorly, so unsure if l will need another day off tomorrow.

Is there anything else I can do? I've been rubbing my tummy and even tried some yoga moves.

Have you tried (if you're able to!) getting on your hands and knees with your elbows bent slightly and your chest lowered a bit and rocking back and forth? It's the only thing that's helped me Sad

badg3r · 03/07/2017 15:33

Yes in my case I got through it with just lots of rocking and stretching and patience I'm afraid!!

daisygirlmac · 03/07/2017 15:37

Yes it was horrendous, carry on with moving, walking can help. Also I cannot recommend Rennie Deflatine enough they are magic! Also try rocking on the toilet.

LumpySpaceCow · 03/07/2017 17:19

Could it be gallstones? Maybe see GP if excruciating as I found wind and gallstone pains in same place but the gallstone pain was unbearable!

kingfishergreen · 03/07/2017 17:21

I ate a LOT of orange Rennies. Mint didn't touch the sides. It's vile though!

kingfishergreen · 03/07/2017 17:21

Trapped wind is vile, Orange Rennies are delicious.

Lelly0503 · 03/07/2017 19:01

I had this a few nights ago and was bent over double. I thought it was labour until it released Blush and I felt 100 x better. It re appeared last night but is a lot higher almost in my stomach. I will get some rennies

Right there with you! I feel like I am going to rip open I am that bloated from wind most days. I am worse when I have been sat at work all day. On days where I am up and about it is nowhere near as bad. I try to have a decent walk an hour after eating to get everything moving which helps but some days nothing will shift it. 6 weeks still to go!

needsomesunshineandwine · 03/07/2017 20:59

First trimester was horrendous for me, never experienced anything like it. I was in agony, thankfully it's passed now.

KimchiLaLa · 03/07/2017 21:04

lol today I got major pains when eating and yes it was trapped wind. Managed to get rid of it with lots of water but I've had constipation a lot so I did order some ella's kitchen prunes the other day!

ThisisMrsNicolaHicklin · 03/07/2017 21:09

I used to get this a lot when I was wee. It was so bad it made me cry, it felt like a big snake tearing up my insides. The GP and my folks tried loads of things but the only thing that worked was my granny's sovereign remedy of a cup of tea with a big teaspoon of dried ginger in it, it was miraculous.

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 05/07/2017 23:53

Yes in all three pregnancies i have and am suffering.
Warm bath and colpermin tablets work well, as does going on all fours, lowering your face and shoulders to the floor and sticking your bottom up in the air.

Sierra259 · 06/07/2017 00:04

I had it when I was expecting DC2. Excruciating mid back and chest pain and 2 trips to the hospital in 5 days. I honestly had no idea trapped wind could be so painful! Sad I used lactulose, dried prunes and apricots to make sure I wasn't constipated, deflatine tablets and peppermint tea after meals also helped. Fortunately, that seemed to get things moving again and it resolved within a week. It was horrible when it was bad though, hope you get some relief soon.

Stevieo · 06/07/2017 00:09

Rennie deflatine eased it. Shooting pains in the top of my bum up, couldn't sit (had to sit for 8 hours a day 5 days a week at work) and struggled to walk, im getting tears in my eyes thinking about it.

fezzik1 · 06/07/2017 07:41

I have IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) and am very familiar with the extreme pain of excess gas! Ive been reduced to tears at times!
I've found peppermint tea actually gives me extra gas and upsets my stomach (especially at night) as well as excess sugar. I cut as much sugar from my diet asap when I get this and I never touch peppermint tea!
As pp's have said some cat cow stretching and if you can lie on your stomach (Depending on how far along you are I guess ;) or your back and rock side to side to help get things moving :) and of course drink plenty of water and eat lots of fiber
