Can't get a GP appointment- advice please

I have been signed off work with HG on and off since I was 6 weeks (now 18+3) and been on medication for most of that time. I had an appointment with MW on Thursday and when she asked about the sickness I explained that it was still just as bad and that I now am occasionally bringing up blood along with the bile (because I can't eat much at all, sorry if TMI). She said I need to get back to the GP as she didn't want me going back to work the way I am. I couldn't go Thursday or Friday as my daughter was then ill at school and was off from Thursday afternoon unable to leave the house. I am due back to work tomorrow so called the doctor this morning to be told there is no appointments at all until Thursday. I left a message with MW explaining as her phone was off but haven't heard back yet.
I really don't know what to do, any advice would be hugely appreciated. I can't even get an emergency appointment because apparently they've all gone too!

Can you get a telephone appointment with a gp? They might be able to issue your note and you collect it at reception?

Can they backdated the sick note? I'm sure I've had to do this before. It's a hard one because what if they won't sign you off but then again, I can't see why they wouldn't. If you're confident they Will, I'm sure it can be backdated due to the circumstances. They will know how hard it is to get an appt.

Look on the front of your green notes, mine have a sticker of useful phone numbers, including a number for triage. I've needed to ring them, due to my midwife team only being contactable mon-fri between 9am-10am.
They were very helpful.

I would phone work and explain - say your MW has advised you to see your GP before returning and you can't get an appointment until Thursday. And try your GP again a few times inbetween to see if you can get a cancellation or emergency appointment?

Massive hugs OP, HG is utterly grim and soul destroying. It was the worst time of my life, particularly second time round when I had a 2 year old to look after too!

I'm not impressed that you can't get an emergency appt. I always did when I had HG. Is the doc's surgery close enough for you to go to and basically beg the receiptionist? (I feel rubbish for you that this should even be a consideration!).

Or a walk in centre?

Keep trying your MW too, is there not a 24/7 community mid wife number?

Scrapping the bottom of the barrel here - could you stagger into work, then immediately go home sick? Then I guess you've returned to work and you can self certify for 7 days.(when you do return to work HG needs to be part of your pregnancy risk assessement, and you may want to investigate whether you could do a phased return after so long off).

They'll back Date the sick note. I was in your position last year. Don't worry, no doctor will doubt you're very ill and can't work if you're throwing up blood 6, 7, 8 times a day.

Thanks for all the replies.
I'll check my notes for another number and am going to call the surgery again this afternoon and see if there's anyway they can issue over the phone.
Staggering into work isn't an option unfortunately as I've done this before and they didn't class it as me having returned to work and asked for another note.
I have been back briefly on a phased return about 3 weeks ago but HG got worse again possibly to do with working in a stressful environment.
Hopefully I'll get some help from GP this afternoon or at least be able to get a MW for advice, I know services are stretched but this seems a bit ridiculous (not their fault of course)
