Who has been in this situation? I have a 28 day cycle. I had unprotected sex on day 8th and he came inside me. I had another unprotected sex on day 13th but he pulled out before coming. To be doubly protected i took postinor(emergency pill) about 10hours afterwards. To my utmost surprise I'm 3days late and got a BFP. I'm surprised at it all and dont know the particular act that knocked me up

My morning after pill is 17 years old and playing with her phone at the moment

Any unprotected sex can lead to pregnancy

msrisotto · 02/07/2017 15:52

Why are you surprised that having unprotected sex twice resulted in a BFP?

TaggieRR · 02/07/2017 15:55

I would guess its from unprotected sex on day 8 but could be failure of morning after pill.

hoppyfarmer · 02/07/2017 16:36

A friend has an 8 year old morning after pill failure....

Sorry that you find yourself in this position. Have you spoken to your partner? Do you know what you want to do?

sparechange · 02/07/2017 17:40

Were there 2 different men involved here?
Otherwise, does it matter which particular time it was?

BertieBotts · 02/07/2017 17:41

The morning after pill just tries to prevent ovulation. If you've already ovulated it won't work. My guess would be you ovulated before or in the 10 hours since sex on day 13. Sperm from both occasions may have been present in the fallopian tubes.

ijustwannadance · 02/07/2017 17:42

Pulling out is not contraception.

BertrandRussell · 02/07/2017 17:53

No-the morning after pill prevents implantation not ovulation. Or, at least, it usually does.

But having unprotected sex when you don't want to get pregnant is dumb. Fortunately, you have found out very early, so you can have a very early termination. Go first thing tomorrow.

BertieBotts · 02/07/2017 18:39

It's the IUD which prevents implantation primarily. Emergency hormonal contraception primarily aims to delay ovulation. According to NHS anyway:

You had unprotected sex and you're surprised you're pregnant?

Macal · 02/07/2017 19:32

Thanks all. I was just curious. I already have 3boys and planned for pregnancy later in the year but this came. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Hoping its a girl.
After this, i'm so done with child bearing
