Extreme Nesting

I'm 25 weeks pg. DP and I are fully rennovating a grade II listed cottage, new kitchen, bathroom, stripped out all the wallpaper and carpets, repainting the whole house and installing a new biomass central heating system. All whilst living in a 10ft x 20ft caravan with 2 dogs and 2 teenagers (DPs kids half the time). It feels a bit like extreme nesting! It wasn't planned, we were served notice on our rental house when i was 8wks and this rundown cottage was our only option (it's lovely tho, despite the work).

So lighthearted thread asking if anyone else has undertaken any batshit crazy projects while pg?

Haha not quite, though we've started planning our potential renovations including moving kitchen into dining room, splitting bathroom in two for extra bathroom, new utility, new downstairs wc , double glazing and possibly new roof! Which is daft to be honest because in all honesty I should be planning my wedding which is booked next April before the house stuff, but the home improvements excite me more!! Grin

...extra bedroom rather...

We were going to...had plans on selling our lovely flat, buying a shell of a house, then renting for a while while it was made habitable. We found a flat in the middle of town. One bed very pokey but cheap and with parking (£600 pcm which is nothing here) which would take us our cat and baby when he arrived.

Then our buyer pulled out. So we figured it was for the best that we stay put. In our lovely spacious 2 bed apartment. Less stress for everyone.

Pregnant with dc2 and so far I have totally redecorated our bedroom, had the hall stairs and landing painted as well as the kitchen. Next stop living roomGrin Tempted to do the bathroom too but not sure if we have enough time!

The decor wasn't even that bad just the previous owners taste. Amazing what a motivation a new arrival can be! DH is a little Confused but happy I'm busy doing that instead of stressing (I was a stressed mess last pregnancy). Dread to think what will happen when I start mat leave at 36 weeks....the garden could do with some attention...

I'm also power nesting!! There's a running joke that I hate cleaning so much that rather than cleaning anything I'm ripping it all out and having clean stuff installed.

I'm nearly 34 weeks and have a just-turned 2 year old, and we're a week into a 3 week kitchen rip out... But our kitchen/diner is in fact half the ground floor of our house and we completely gutted it, including tearing down the whole lath and plaster ceiling and rewiring the house, so not just a few new cabinets :D

Only a month or two before that we had the bathroom done with much the same level of destruction, and I kicked the whole thing off over the new year having the two old boilers ripped out and a new combi installed, do it's been a super chilled pregnancy so far :p

... I'm eyeing up the hallway flooring now, and the garden's been on the radar for some time...

As soon as we found were expecting, we decided to move to a bigger house. We're moving at the end of this month and I'm really not looking forward to it! Even washing the dishes or putting a load of washing in is too much of a chore for me at the moment and I'm only 8 weeks Blush

Nothing near as drastic as you, but I hace started fully redecorating my flat in the last couple of weeks! I'm currently stressed to the eyeballs over colours of curtains and rugs and sat in tears a couple of nights ago because everything is half finished and there's only four months left until the baby gets here!! SadGrin

DebsOctBaby · 02/07/2017 11:42

My OH has! He doesn't seem that fussed about actual baby stuff but has ripped our bathroom, had loving room redecorated, front garden paved and now having back garden landscaped. He wants it all done so it's nice for when she makes her appearance

Just moved in to our house properly at 37 weeks, I'm now 39 weeks and the house is only just clean, and my partner brings home a puppy. Projects allllll round Grin
