Hi everyone

Just over 14 weeks but I've been experiencing pain in my lower back / bum especially on my right side... It's that uncomfortable sometimes I am suffering when walking. I feel like I have the joints of an 80 year old. Also having some pain in front hip. Has anyone experienced anything like this so early on?

Yep, sounds like sciatic nerve or sacroialiac joint or something similar. A deep tissue massage might do wonders for you (just back from one at 20 weeks with the same thing Smile)

it's indeed most likely sciatica. i've been struggling with it since before pregnancy, as i have a herniated disc.
try not to lift heavy weights, watch your weight gain (a lot easier said than done, true), to roll out of bed rather than get straight up and to bend at the knees rather than at the waist when you pick something up, to avoid any damage to your spine.
good luck!

The doctor I saw today said that all my ligaments and tissue is softening and loosening and said it can be painful. I'm to follow up with my midwife in 2 weeks and all being well should start to feel better around 17 / 18 weeks. Signed me off to rest and keep stretching out to help my aches! I have a dog so it's an excuse not to sit and let my aches get the better of me Smile

Jeez that's good going being signed off for it, it wouldn't even occur to me to see a doctor for it and I definitely wouldn't have thought they'd sign people off for it!

I'm a coach driver so I spend most my day sitting on my butt driving so I'm thankful for a break :) the doctor was lovely he said he's delivered babies and is married to a midwife. He said every pregnant lady is different and had a very good understanding of how I felt. Work was getting busy so he thought some time off would do me a world of good. Go and see the doctor they might be able to help like that if you need a break

Unfortunately I'm self employed so can't take time off anyway :) But even when I had bad carpal tunnel in my last pregnancy that was very difficult for me to work with my gp had sympathy but not much else!
