I'm 4w5d and wondered if anyone else fancied joining me on the amazing journey to come?
First, second, third or fourth (or more!!) timers welcome!

This will be #1 after a long 18 months of miscarriages, infertility and heartache but i'm feeling super positive about this one and ready to enjoy the next few months!

Congrats @Clarab0w how you feeling

Clarab0w · 05/08/2017 09:14

Thank you laralou! Just totally disbelieving. We're getting married next month and thought we'd start trying after that but obviously jumped the gun! Blush

Just lightheaded so far, zero other symptoms, which I'm already a little nervous about as I had a MMC before my son...

Anyone else just found out and in a bit of a whirl?!

Sweetheartt · 05/08/2017 09:38

I recently found out I am expecting my first child. I am 33 and have PCOS. This is my first pregnancy. I am due March 26, 2018. I am approximately 6 weeks and 5 days. Monday is my first OB appt and hopefully we can confirm this timeline with TVUS.

Anyone else due about the same time? What kind of symptoms do you have? Does everyone get the infamous "Morning Sickness"?

blueobsessive · 05/08/2017 09:54

@CL1982 I hope everything is ok and has now calmed down.

Welcome and congrats newbies. Most of us on here are further down the line. Due Feb- march next year.

There is a list about a week ago down the thread.

We are a mixed crew: some who have been through the mill on the way to here with mcs, pregnancy complications and a tough time ttc; some more experienced who have kids already (and are great for tips)

mummyGof2boys · 05/08/2017 10:12

Hi @Sweetheartt @Clarab0w congratulations on your news. How are you both feeling? We are all a little further ahead. I was 11 weeks yesterday and still have horrid all day sickness.

@CL1982 did the cramping calm down?

CL1982 · 05/08/2017 11:09

@blueobsessiveONG YOU POOR THING!!

Mind you Swiss medical care is amazing.... glad you're home and all safe! I think it's calmed down. As usual will be happy to egg scanned and reassured!

Booking in app next Tuesday and 12 week scan booked for 17th :)

@mummygof2boys I think it's the weird cramping I had before which I'm wondering is my version of 'growing pains'...! You ok? Sickness calmed a bit?

Welcome to @sweetheartt and @clarab0w :) I'll add you to the list when I get to a desktop! When are you due?

mummyGof2boys · 05/08/2017 11:13

@CL1982 Yeah could be. I had some weird cramping yesterday that made me lay down. The sickness is crap. I can't wait for it to stop. I was clinging on the the sick bringing up bile this morning. It just kept going and going and there was nothing in my stomach. Just awful. Got my scan on Monday though so looking forward to that. You ok?

mummyGof2boys · 05/08/2017 11:14

Sink lol

mummyGof2boys · 05/08/2017 11:17

And the headaches Iv had are horrible 😩😩

CL1982 · 05/08/2017 11:47

@blueobesesaive that meant to be OMG!! Lol

OP posts:
CL1982 · 05/08/2017 11:50

Yes the headaches haven't been fun :( you poor thing MummyG. That sounds horrible!! I have been ok. I do get a little bit of ms but thank goodness it hasn't been really bad since week 6/7.

OP posts:
mummyGof2boys · 05/08/2017 12:30

Iv had ms since the week before I found out I was pregnant. It feels like it has gone on forever. My neck is so sore which o think is causing the headaches. That's good yours has slowed down. What a relief

blueobsessive · 05/08/2017 15:36

So glad things have calmed down @CL1982

@mummyGof2boys you poor poor thing! That sounds utterly grim. Hope it doesn't remain like that much longer.

No tips re headaches I'm afraid but I'm finding these helpful for nausea www.nairns-oatcakes.com/oat-biscuits-stem-ginger
They are wrapped in small packs of about 5 inside so they fit easily in a handbag. The box doesn't say anything about being aimed at the pregnant market but I'm pretty sure they know that most of the people buying them will be!

(Luckily had them in my bag in Switzerland and had them for my dinner in the hospital).

It wasn't the way we had hoped our holiday would pan out, but, you are right, Swiss hospitals are amazing: and practically deserted. I waited 5 mins for the gynae scan and was the only person waiting (in a spotless shiny beautifully architected box)! I saw 2 other patients in a&e:2!!!!

The Swiss pay huge amounts of insurance for their healthcare, though, and have to pay 50% of the costs of any ambulance pick up. Were we only using ehic and not travel insurance (which DH called before the ambulance) we'd have been be down about £600 by the time we reached the hospital. Glad to have been carrying ehic and had the travel insurance claim number in my phone. It felt totally paranoid at the time.

mummyGof2boys · 06/08/2017 09:55

@blueobsessive thank you for the recommendation. Iv tried ginger and the smell turns my tummy. I love the stuff as well. Tried ginger snaps, ginger beer, ginger tea. Nothing works 😳😳 just feel so rubbish.

We probably wouldn't have such a busy a&me if we had to pay high insurance levels but the NHS is such an amazing thing.

How is everyone feeling today? Got my scan tomorrow eeeeek

blueobsessive · 06/08/2017 11:24

You poor thing @mummyGof2boys . Sorry for adding to the misery with links to ginger things. Hoping the grimness will pass. Handhold (by the toilet bowl) if you need it. Good luck with your scan tomorrow. Will. E keeping everything crossed. Hope getting the extra bloods done wasn't too much of a faff.

Have decided to defend the NHS to my dying breath.

I'm back to feeling much more like myself, thank goodness. Being home definitely helps. I've decided that staycations rock. We have just decided to replace our (barely functioning and occasionally utterly non functioning washing machine). Disproportionately delighted by the prospect of putting a load on and being able to be sure that it will end up clean!

mummyGof2boys · 06/08/2017 12:11

Haha it's so heartbreaking when something like that fails you isn't it. Out tumble dryer broke and I'm struggling to get washing dried in the house.

So glad you are feeling better. Home definitely is the best place to be. At the moment I really do not want to leave the house lol.

Hubby is taking both boys out for the afternoon, I'm having a bath and a nap after Iv cleaned the house. Extra bloods are tomorrow morning and scan in the afternoon. Just hope everything is ok so this sickness is for nothing.

Had the mil been in touch since you got back or are yiu blissfully enjoying your home vacation?

Sah2241 · 06/08/2017 14:32

@mummyg sounds like you're having a really hard time of it. Hoping you turn a corner soon and start to feel like yourself again. I've had a sudden burst of energy today for the first time in weeks and I'm hoping that at almost 13 weeks the worst is over. I've also got my scan tomorrow so like you I'm just hoping all is ok!

blueobsessive · 06/08/2017 15:38

Excellent that your husband has taken the boys out, @mummyGof2boys . Hope you enjoy your afternoon of tranquility.

'Twas my own mother who sent the letter, on headed paper. Mil is likely to be totally fine (I am v lucky).

Have wimped out rather and have emailed my dad to say

"I hope all is well. I thought you might like to know that although we did go to Switzerland we decided to return early - all is fine.

We were cleared medically to go and went. The journey was fine and smooth. It was very hot in Luzern (which is very pretty nonetheless). I didn't feel great and we decided not to stay more than 1 night. Baby has been confirmed as being fine. Lovely strong heartbeat (too early to tell more)."

Not untrue but not quite truth, whole truth and nothing but. Hoping it will defuse the prospect of further correspondence...

mummyGof2boys · 06/08/2017 15:54

@blueobsessive so it was!!! Hopefully they will just be glad everything is ok and you don't get the I told you so lecture lol.

@Sah2241 glad you are starting to pick up a bit now. Eeek how exciting. What time do you have scan?

I managed to nap on the sofa with my trusted pregnancy pillow for two whole hours!!! I haven't had a nap during the day for years. Feels good. Hubby is now taking the boys to mils for dinner. Extra bonus 😊😊

SS81C · 06/08/2017 17:41

Sounds like a perfect response Blue.....hopefully they won't ask any more questions and I guess you might get an 'I told you so' correspondence but hopefully not a lecture.....haha. New washing machines are the best and vital!!! We didn't have a tumble dryer for the first 2 no the after D'S arrived and it was a nightmare.

My sister is over this weekend and we have been doing touristy things and lots of walking and wow are my hips hurting now....plus I needed a two hour nap when we got home and I'm still shattered.
Hope you feel more rested @MummyG

CL1982 · 06/08/2017 19:20

Welll i don't know about anyone else but my tiredness has totally peaked week 10. In Cromer with the in law family and by 4pm I'm ready to sleep for the rest of the week. What a way to spend a mini break!!

Good luck with your scans today 😀

mummyGof2boys · 07/08/2017 08:20

@Lauralou031986 thank you. Very excited but nervous too. Got until 3.30 to wait 😳😳

Sah2241 · 07/08/2017 10:01

My appointment is at 3.30pm too and it is a 2hr slot to cover booking appointment and scan at same time. Just hoping they do the scan first so I don't have to sit there for ages giving information without knowing if all is well! I expect my blood pressure will be sky high as I managed to crash my car into the side of my house yesterday!! Oops!! Thankfully I wasn't injured in the slightest, apart from my ego which has been severely bruised! Just back from the garage and I swear if I hear one more joke about women drivers I cannot be held responsible for my actions...!!

ladylumpz84 · 07/08/2017 10:24

Hi all, this is my first ever post! I would love to join you all

I have just found out I am pregnant after a CP last month at 5 weeks. I thought my AF had turned up last Friday but it was short and very light brown (TMI sorry). I did not have this with the first pregnancy. Could this be implementation bleeding? I took a test on Friday and it was super faint and the digi clear blue came back not pregs. I was still super convinced I was. Took another digi clear blue last night and it come up with 1-2 weeks. I have had niggly back ache and a few faint cramping but so far so good. I am really still in shock and I know how ladies must worry themselves sick especially if they have went through a loss. These forums have been so helpful. I don't want to obsess over any little niggle but its sooooo hard not to. We will be keeping this pregnancy very low key and I don't think I will notify my GP until 6 weeks. Oh, this will be my first baby. Congrats to all and lets try to just enjoy it!
