I'm 4w5d and wondered if anyone else fancied joining me on the amazing journey to come?
First, second, third or fourth (or more!!) timers welcome!

This will be #1 after a long 18 months of miscarriages, infertility and heartache but i'm feeling super positive about this one and ready to enjoy the next few months!

Random question, does anyone no if you can eat douphinoise potatoes? I'm at a wedding tomorrow really unsure of what I can eat,

SS81C · 29/07/2017 20:10

@Lauralou cooked food wise there's very little you actually can't eat.... (obviously must be well cooked) so that will be fine xx

Lauralou031986 · 29/07/2017 20:26

Thanks @SS81C that's what I was thinking, it's all this pasteurised business that has me thinking like cream and things like that

mummyGof2boys · 29/07/2017 20:33

@Lauralou031986 you can eat a lot of things when they are cooked that you can't eat when they are raw for example your soft cheese like goats cheese and Camembert.

Thanks @mummyGof2boys I'm just gonna try and not over worry

mummyGof2boys · 29/07/2017 21:06

@Lauralou031986 easier said than done isn't it 😂😂

Lauralou031986 · 29/07/2017 21:13

Tell me about it, some people still drink and smoke when pregnant and I'm worried about cream in my potatoes lol

mummyGof2boys · 29/07/2017 21:51

😂😂😂 oh I know. I was worried my goats cheese wasn't hot enough and I forgot to take folic acid a few times and got so worried. For goodness sake this is my third and I'm still mental worried 😂😂

SS81C · 30/07/2017 06:57

Urgh had to call in sick today...i hate doing it because we are always short staffed but I worked 12 hour shift yesterday and ended up with a migraine which I can't shift with paracetamol and I hardly slept so have decided I need to look after myself and baby rather than just power through so have tucked myself back up in bed to try and rest up.

SS81C · 30/07/2017 07:00

@Lauralou unless you live on a farm it's pretty difficult to get hold of unpasteurized milk/cream/cheese etc so I wouldn't worry.....plus as MummyG says if they're cooked it's fine anyway.
I'm terrible though...im sure my shop to twice as long this week checking the labels and then I was worrying because I ate tuna 2 days in a row!! Haha!!

Lauralou031986 · 30/07/2017 07:25

Thanks @SS81C hope your feeling better? That's what I think aswell most thing are going to be pasteurised nowadays, it's when it doesn't state it on the labels, that's when I get confused 🤔

KerryLeanne84 · 30/07/2017 08:11

Linz - most cream and milk is pasteurised unless you get it direct from a farmer. Dauphinois potatoes are the BEST!!

SS81C - I'm getting tonnes of headaches right now too, it seems to be a common symptom for 8-10 weeks as well as upper neck pain 😯 Up to four cans of tuna a week is what they say is fine 😊

SS81C · 30/07/2017 08:22

Kerryleanne I remember from my first I got loads in the first trimester and then they all settled down after that...im 9 weeks so that figures and yeah it's in my upper neck too....just running a lavender bath to see if that helps....

I really want dauohinouise potatoes now. YUM!

AmandaP86x · 30/07/2017 08:24

Hey girls sorry been nightshift. I work as a staff nurse in gynaecology within a maternity building so I have been getting loads of support help from consultants and midwifes I am anxious +++ it's ridiculous!!!

I am 15 weeks today!! I have a previous misscarridge at 9 weeks so just so scared!!

@SS81C I also had the exact same prob last week had to phone in sick but I had done a run of nights onto a day shift came home and I felt ill was horrendous!! Xx

CL1982 · 30/07/2017 08:52

Hi @mummy2727 Welcome. I can totally understand how you're worried-do you think it's a multiple pregnancy again?

mummyGof2boys · 30/07/2017 09:14

@Mummy2727 withdrew her request before I got a chance to read it

CL1982 · 30/07/2017 14:53

@mummygof2boys I'm not sure why she withdrew it-there was nothing bad on it :)

@CL1982 it is a scary time but it's so important to stay positive 🤗 these things unfortunately happen and I was unfortunately one of them. Have my wee rainbow baby now 💛

SS81C · 30/07/2017 19:29

Well I've finally managed to get out of bed - still feeling horrendous so think I will head back shortly....dont feel so bad about phoning in sick because I literally haven't been able to move all day i would have been useless at work...
Amanda....I Think it's worse when you work in the 'field' as well- I was horrendously anxious with my first....im not sure if I'm better this time or just too tired to ve anxious running round after the toddler. Glad your colleagues are being supportive!

Lauralou031986 · 30/07/2017 22:47

Anyone still been drinking coffee? Think I might try my first cup tomorrow since finding out (or half a cup lol)

Tweetypie19 · 31/07/2017 06:52

Hi Lauralou,
Usually st around 8 weeks I completely go off coffee, so I'm still having the occasional cup (5.5 weeks preggers) I'm really thirsty all the time and so am drinking plenty of water mainly. The trouble is peeing though!!! A lovely drink I've found which may help with morning sickness is the twinnings gingerbread tea bags. Smells so good. X

LinzLinz · 31/07/2017 07:22

I've gone straight onto decaf but I think the guidelines say you can have 2 cups of normal coffee a day.

This is my first pregnancy, just wondering when you start to feel a bump even if no one else can see it?! It doesn't seem real at the minute!

SS81C · 31/07/2017 08:32

I can't stomach tea at the moment....ive had a couple of decaf coffees but I don't much fancy those either.
I might have to try those tea bags Tweatypie - sounds lovely.
I'm still feeling awful today so I'm thinking it's a virus....resting up...although we need to do a food shop....not sure I can face it with the toddler! Might get a delivery for tomorrow! Haha!
