I've just noticed my "20 week" scan is booked for when I'm on holiday.

It's in two weeks. I will be 20+6 days on the day it is currently booked for.

How late can you have this scan? My understanding is it needs to be done between 18-21 weeks, is that correct?

It literally just dawned on me this morning, I hadn't even given it a 2nd thought to crossing over my holiday. I'm worried that I won't be able to get a scan as I'll miss the 21 week cut off. I leave next weekend so I would need to have it done from today or next week which is very short notice for the hospital to fit me in... I feel really stupid 😞

Anyone?
I've rang hospital and pretty much been told it'll be hard to fit me next week but someone will call me back.

Not sure about dates but if you haven't heard by Monday I'd call them back

Thanks. I just don't want to miss out on getting it done, I think it's important.

Just silly of me to leave it so late.

It's not silly our baby brains aren't quite as sharp as our normal ones! Well mine certainly isn't. Hopefully they can squeeze you in next week

I honestly didn't give it a thought up until my eyes opened this morning... And it was the first thing into my head. I've been awake since 6am just waiting to call hospital lol xx

I had mine at 22 weeks so I wouldn't worry, just ring and rearrange! Smile

SeatOfMyPants · 29/06/2017 09:12

It varies between hospitals. Mine does them 18-23 weeks and I was 22w4d when I had mine. Would after holiday be an option?

OnNaturesCourse · 29/06/2017 09:21

I will be 23+1 on the day I get back from holiday so I'm not sure.... I'll definitely ask.

Worse case scenario and it is too late..you coukd always pay for one privately.

I don't think it is a window like the 12 weeks one where there are certain things that can only be seen at that date. They are literally looking at the baby to detect if there is anything that doesn't look right, so it should be ok to do that a week later.

OnNaturesCourse · 29/06/2017 10:03

They've said no to doing it past 21+6.

Got booked in for tomorrow but they say it may be too early as I'll be 19+1 ... Now I'm concerned about that

19+1 is fine.
I had my 20w scan at 18+6 and all was ok

OnNaturesCourse · 29/06/2017 13:23

Fingers crossed, I guess it's better than nothing!
