Hi All, I want to try for another baby in about six months (I have a now 15 month old) but I had to have an emergency CS and they had to extend the incision (and said I might not be able to have a vaginal birth next time). My scar doesn't hurt but if I push it it definitely feels tender still - I just wanted to ask, does this ever go away? Also I wanted to get it looked at before trying again just to be on the safe side, has anyone done this, ands if so is it a case of going to the GP, or would a family planning clinic be better?

Hi. Might be worth getting it checked over but I do remember my HV telling me after i had my son 2 and a half by emergency CS, to wait a year before deciding to get pregnant again. Im 12 weeks now and didnt really think about it too much. But due to your post, i decided to have a little poke and even now it still feels a little uncomfortable. My MW didnt seem concerned at all and gave me the choice of a VBAC or elective section.

I'm sure you will be fine after 15 months (plus another 6 if you're waiting). You could try calling a private scanning company (like the ones that do the baby scans) as I think some of them do check up scans to have a look at the general health of the uterus.

I had DS by EMCS 8 months ago. It was a brutal CS with a lot of internal "tugging" and "pulling" plus a large incision. We were told to wait a year to TTC (later told to wait at
least 6 months). I am actually now 5 and a bit weeks pregnant, which may sound stupid but we never thought it would happen again, let alone that it would happen so quickly. I am extremely worried about being pregnant so quickly, but am going to wait and see what the doctor says.

Oh sorry you're worrying, that's a tough one - congratulations and nice for them to be close in age anyway!

Thank you. Had we known it would happen so quickly, we would definitely have arranged a scan beforehand to see what things look like internally. I hope you're able to sort one out and good luck with TTC!
