Hello,

The midwife has advised me that the baby and I are back to back and I need to try and move him.

She's suggested crawling around on my hands and knees, walking up the stairs side ways like a crab and lying with my legs up the wall.

Just wondered if any one else was
advised this and did it work

Thank you

DS1 was back to back. He never spun round but was born fit, well and healthy after a back achy labour. Good luck.

DD was back to back. I was told to rock side to side on hands and knees and to also straddle a dining table chair backwards!! Obviously worked as DD turned!! Good luck! X

Dc 1&4 were back to back. Neither turned no matter what I did. In fairness I just thought it was how labour was meant to be with dc1. It did feel more painful with dc4 but I'd had 2 loa labour in between to compare it to, I also had a hideous latent labour with him & stalled at 4cm. He was out within an hour of the drip being started though. There's no harm in trying to get baby to turn but there's nothing to be scared of if he doesn't.

My little one went back to back the day I went into labour, they say the labour is more painful.. I'm not sure as she was my first but I was able to cope with no pain relief at all .. and I'm a whimp! It was too late for me to try and help her move but all babies can turn right up until the last min! My second is breech at 38 weeks and us refusing to budge! Csection is booked! Seems like one of mine want to come out the right way!! Good luck I hope he moves for you x

Have you seen spinningbabies.com? I know that's supposed to be super helpful - there might be a few more things you can try. No personal experience of back-to-back but I've had friends who have and have had second ones with OA presentation, and they can't recall a marked difference. Hope you can get baby shifted, anyway!
