He doesn't wear jewellery or watches. Baby boy will be our first. Been together 15 years (!) But we are also on a budget (private secret wedding). Totally stumped.

What are his hobbies, OP? I know you said he doesn't wear jewellery or watches but maybe if you gave an idea of what his interests are it might help people come up with ideas? Or did you want the gift to be baby-related?

Jellybabie3 · 26/06/2017 22:09

Ah ok i thought tradition said watches. He likes fishing? Or baby related 😕

Some tickets for a show/experience or something a few months down the line that could be your first baby free night out? Obviously you'll be pretty busy the next few months but it might be nice to have a date night booked in to look forward to?

I could be way off here, if you could cufflinks as jewellery, but if he's wearing a nice shirt on the wedding day, how about some fishing -related cufflinks? There's a pair that you could customise with the date of the wedding.

I'd recommend having a look on notonthehighstreet.com and Etsy - there are some lovely and unusual gift ideas on both.

*count cufflinks as jewellery

Also red wine 😀. Likes those proper red wine glasses -the large ones you swirl. Can see you can get them engraved but think that might be tacky (and will prob not then wanna use).

I bought my dh a painting of the spot where he had proposed to me. Luckily he did it somewhere very picturesque so there were lots of paintings!
For our first anniversary we were on a tight budget and I bought him a book of love poems.

I didn't buy anything for my h2b, nor he for me on our wedding. Didn't seem necessary.
Is it the done thing these days?

Jellybabie3 · 27/06/2017 11:19

Yeah looks like it. I tried to poo poo the idea but OH said he has great idea for me. Sigh.
