Newborn nappies

I wasn't sure where to post this so thought it might fit here. I should know the answer as I already have children but my memory is terrible!

I'm 3 months pregnant and want to start stocking up on essentials that will need when baby arrives. How long are babies in newborn size nappies for roughly? I know it will depend on birthweight and growth so just a rough guess - about a month? I don't want to buy too many of that size!

Thanks x

Just buy one bag for now. I was given a load when my son was born. Also you don't want too many of one brand incase baby doesn't get on with them. Nappies will soon become a shopping essential like milk and bread, not a good idea to stock up. In fact most baby stuff should be bought on a when needed basis, they grow and change so quickly.

Buy a packet of 1 and 2 to start with, don't stock up as you might find you don't like those nappies.

They won't go through a whole packet in one day so just pop to the shop when you need more.

Just buy a packet or two - the brand / size may not agree with your baby

Thanks for the advice - This is my 5th so I'm quite sure which brand I prefer - just my silly memory making me forget! I like to stock up on everything as during maternity leave I won't have as much income so think it makes sense while my income is at it's normal level to buy essentials. I'll just get a couple of packets of newborn. Thanks all

They go up to about 11lbs. For my DD she was in them for a good few months but it'll be more like 1 for most.

I would warn against stocking up too much though because even though you may like a brand - your little one might end up being sensitive to them. My first had pampers but second one they caused horrible rashes that stopped when i switched him to aldi...
