Extreme tiredness, can i sleep until November?

I'm exhausted.

I eat well. I sleep 8-9 hours on average. My exercise has lapsed as I physically can't get out of bed some mornings, I just manage a little walk during the day.

Climbing stairs, standing up, sitting up etc all cause my heart to thump in my head, my breathing to go out of whack and makes me unsteady on my feet for a minute or two.

My blood pressure averages about 120/80ish, and my iron levels were checked at approx 8w. Im now 18w and genuinely struggling, i constantly feel so tired, that way where a headache is threatening to start unless i rest.

I want to find out what's going on but I hate "bothering" midwifes etc. It's my 1st baby and I keep being told "it's normal"... Is it!?

I've felt exhausted all the way through, I'm 20 week tomorrow and fell asleep on the sofa last night 9-3 then went to bed and slept 4-11, that's like 2 normal nights sleep for one in me,

It's my first too and I just think our bodies are working overtime with a baby in there xx

OnNaturesCourse · 23/06/2017 15:26

I mean I knew there would be tiredness but my goodness, I'm waking up tired lol. The breathlessness and lighted headed thing isn't helping.

I feel I was lied to about pregnancy being all light and glowing!

Me too! I still haven't had any glowing and have spots like a 14 year old, xx

OnNaturesCourse · 23/06/2017 15:30

I'm sorry you are all going through it too but it makes me feel better knowing it's not just me x

It doesn't sound normal tbh op.

I'd bother the midwife if I were you.

Yes, you're knackered when pregnant but breathlessness and light-headed sounds more concerning. Maybe get your iron levels checked again.

OnNaturesCourse · 23/06/2017 15:34

They refuse to as the last results were fine, and I had the same symptoms then x

ew I'm 20 weeks tomorrow too!!!!! How fun! Yay.

It's my second and I've been utterly exhausted this time too!!! The last couple of days have been better as I've not exercised. Maybe that's the key. But I'd like to exercise, I did every day with DS. The 2nd tri energy burst is elusive.

OnNaturesCourse · 23/06/2017 15:43

Exercise all but disappeared for me around 10weeks. It's driving me crazy as I feel unhealthy.

I have been decorating every day the past week so maybe that's made me feel this bit worse today.

I was hoping the 2nd trimester would mean the return of long walks, gym etc x

@BendydickCuminsnatch ooh we are due on the same day! How exciting, have you had your 20 week scan yet? Xx

user1483387154 · 23/06/2017 16:11

My exhaustion lasted the first 2 trimesters. 3rd trimester is not quite so bad but no idea how others manage to go to the gym etc.

OnNaturesCourse · 23/06/2017 17:38

I had a drink of Lucozade when writing this and my goodness I feel amazing, and managed the stairs with no breathlessness.

They refuse to check your iron levels again? That's just not on, they can check with a simple finger prick check that is so cheap. I would complain and insist they check as even though your iron levels were fine when they first checked (though what were they as they might have been technically ok but on the border of low) they can have very easily dropped by now, especially if your diet hasn't been normal because of morning sickness etc.

I really don't remember being too exhausted when pregnant with DD but I am extremely exhausted with this pregnancy and my iron was low last week when they checked.

Natsku · 23/06/2017 17:56

Also my thyroid levels dropped when I was pregnant last time (had been normal before, but then dropped for a while and returned to normal in late pregnancy) so might be worth asking about getting them checked too (midwife has ordered mine to be checked because of my tiredness)

OnNaturesCourse · 23/06/2017 17:59

I'll definitely mention it again. I wasn't told what it was last time, just that "everything was OK"

Gah that would really annoy me, they ought to tell you the actual level and not just say its fine - you have a right to know about your own health!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 23/06/2017 18:10

ew No it's next Thursday, but I did have a gender scan at 18 weeks - another boy!! :)

OnNaturesCourse · 23/06/2017 18:13

I didn't know to ask, new to all this.

Congratulations on the little boy! X

@BendydickCuminsnatch mines next Friday I can't wait xx

OnNaturesCourse · 23/06/2017 19:51

So my blood pressure tonight was 107/63 which is lower than normal but apparently not "low"

OP posts:
ew1990 · 23/06/2017 19:53

Mine was 102/59 at my last midwifes appointment, her words were just how we like it nice and low x

OnNaturesCourse · 23/06/2017 19:59

Oh well, glad of that!
