Those of you waiting until 12 weeks to announce...

Are you telling after your scan or after your screening results? I have my scan early next week, and although I'd be glad not to have to hide it anymore (not even sure how successful I've been tbh as my bloat enters a room well before the rest of me ) I also feel like I've kept it secret for this long, I may as well wait until I know (hopefully!) all is well?

What have/will you do?

We told family after our scan on Wednesday and will tell close friends either when we've had the test results or in a week or so if we haven't had them by then. I figure if it's been over a week should be low risk? I already know the nt was fine at 1.7mm so will hopefully be ok. Other people I'll just tell when I see them, no big fb announcement or anything.

I'm probably going to wait until after the scan (having it at 11+2, earliest I can get it and still be in the right time frame) and I'll have the blood test results the week before the scan so should have a good indicator of the risk level by then.

Well, that's if I manage to keep it secret until then - I told my parents because they're coming over in two weeks time so wanted to give them some warning (to hopefully bring me baby-related presents ) and one friend guessed already because I'm not drinking.

I've just had the first scan (at 13 weeks) so am going to wait till I get the blood test result and then assuming that's ok I'll tell my boss in the next few weeks. My parents knew quite early on because I wasn't well and they were visiting but we've held off telling people till the scan and results. I'd hold off for as long as possible if I could get away with it as I hate the fuss and the unsolicited advice.. but expect I will be showing too much in the next month to be able to get away with it!
