has anyone dyed their hair when pregnant?

what was your experience and how long in the pregnancy were you??

Yes i did. It can affect how the colour takes on your hair so one time mine needed redoing as it wasn't dark enough the first time.

I dye my hair every 2 or 3 months and nhs website states it's still safe to do so.

I've noticed that the colour seems to come out darker on my hair than it did before (but it does then lighten after a few weeks) and equally even with permanent dye it doesn't seem to last as long so I'm going to go down to semi-permanent. Hope that helps OP!

Sorry, to answer the other part of your Q I'm currently 6 months pregnant and have dyed twice- once at 13 weeks and again at about 21 weeks xx

I'm 8 months pregnant and have dyed my hair twice, once at about 4 months and then last week, it's come out the same colour as normal

I had my highlights done after 12 weeks, no evidence to say you can't have it done earlier I just wanted to wait until I was past that point. I asked the colourist at Toni & Guy and she said she's done loads of pregnant ladies, it's perfectly OK as the solution doesn't touch the scalp. I couldn't cope with 9 months of regrowth!

I'm pretty sure my sister dyed her hair in her second or third trimester. I could be wrong but I think the whole issue with doing things like dying hair, using certain chemicals on your skin etc is more before 12 weeks x

I have dyed mine but with a semi permanent.
I found my scalp to be more sensitive though so definately do a patch test first

What do people think about henna?
