is this normal? I'm 18 weeks today have a small bump. Some days I get a hard bump rising to the surface and it feels tender then I get pressure in my bum. However other days I get nothing and haven't had anything for a few days. worrying or normal?

Hi, congratulations on your baby. I had this from about 20 weeks, it felt weird at first and I was unsure if it was the baby but my placenta is in the front so my baby has a hard time getting the kick to make an impact although now at 25 weeks he's sure making me notice. So it depends on the location of your placenta and how old your baby is as they are still tiny and may not have enough strength to make all kicks felt.

Hi Fluffy I'm 19 weeks and haven't felt any movements yet. At the weekend my small bump felt bigger and hard but then on Monday I felt/looked a lot flatter. Weird... I've got my scan next week.

Hi FluffyEwok, this is normal. It's possible to feel movements from about 13 weeks onwards. Whether you start feeling this at this point or later, around 20 weeks partly depends on where the placenta is positioned - and how active your baby is of course. Put simply, if it's at the side then you're more likely to feel movement earlier than someone with a placenta at the front.

my placenta was on the back at my last scan. it's weird it's like a hard lump coming to the surface every now and again
