Cramping and spotting after cervical stitch?

Someone please help me!!

Had a cervical stitch put in today at 12+3 and since my spinal block anaesthetic has worn off I feel really bad cramps and am spotting in my pad. Nurses don't seem concerned and won't call a doctor for me.

Is cramping and backache normal after this procedure??

I lost my baby at 20 weeks last year and really can't imagine losing another healthy baby.

Nurses won't call a doctor for you? Are you an inpatient?

The cramps might just be because they been tampering with your cervix. I'd try not to worry as the nurses would be if reason to.

Sorry yes inpatient in hospital as op done late in the day and I need a catheter to help me 'go' so they're keeping me in over night.

Have been googling like mad and find conflicting information about severe cramping after stitch is put in.

You're in hospital. Stop googling and just go with what the staff are saying.

Sorry you're having a rough time Scared. Why don't you post on the short cervical thread group in anti-natal clubs. I had my stitch at 22 weeks and it sounds very normal from my experience and from other women on the thread. However, do just ask the staff x
