Anyone got any tips for dealing with this? Sorry if tmi, but I haven't been able to go since Sunday and my tummy is sooo sore! I've tried eating all the fibre I can think of and I'm drinking plenty, but nothing seems to be "getting things moving"...

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I would go the the doctors and get them to prescribe you something. I was abroad when I got constipation it got so bad I had to find a chemist and they gave me some laxatives to take safe in pregnancy which took about a day to work. I would also recommend prunes and prune juice!

I used to have a glass of homemade prune puree every night before bed and then weetabix for breakfast. It helped massively. Prune juice just made me gassy, i found the puree more effective.

Get some lactulose from the chemist, it's safe in pregnancy and I had some yesterday and have just been. Good luck, it's awful x

Get lactulose from the chemist. It should help.

Another vote for Lactulose. You can discuss it with your midwife first if you prefer but it's perfectly safe. It saved me.

NW10teacher · 21/06/2017 13:20

I'll give the lactulose a go, thanks all! I tried prune juice too but it's just made me gassy as well. I think I might have trapped wind because I'm all bloated and gurgly but nothing's actually coming out... urgh.
