I'm 40 weeks today with number 6 so you'd think there wouldn't be much left that I hadn't experienced preg and birth wise. However, this preg has been different, symptom -wise, from the others.
I have always had my babies late, the latest 2 being 3 weeks over, so I'm not expecting anything to happen just yet.
What bothers me is that I haven't had any runs of Braxton Hicks at all. By this stage in the other pregs at least it felt as if my body was limbering up and I would get runs of bh's in the evenings and during the nights. I get the odd one but apart from that absolutely nothing.
Has anyone else had this and then just gone into labour, without warning, so to speak?
Please give me hope someone

I never really had any signs of impending labour.

With dd1 things just started out of the blue.

dd2 and ds were two weeks over and I was induced both times.

Kitty your body is so experienced at giving birth that it doesn't need a run up at it any more My grandma had 6 and said that the last one was totally different - no warning and hardly had time to get her knickers off

It will be fine

with dd1 I had no indication whatsover until contractions started on night when I was 4 days overdue

i was similar with no 4 til about 39 weeks, went into labour a week overdue, same as with no 3 except i had lots of bh with him. have you tried clary sage oil? that got bh going for me

lulumama · 21/03/2007 09:55

it will be fine !!! of course it will ! your body is so good at this now, baby will simply pop out ! if you tend to go late, then you might start limbering up over the next few days .....keep us posted!

I was exactly like that with ds2.I had no bh's, no show etc. Went to bed at 40+4 and woke up in the early hours in labour, which only lasted 2 hours from beginning to end.

Wil ldo, thankyou ladies. I know I've waited this long wait of being overdue so many times but everytime I think 'This baby isn't going to come out" how stupid is that? Well, I'm reassured by those who have just simply 'gone into labour, just like that' thanks

Ahhhhh kitty
Nearly as annoying as having a million signs of impending labour and still no labour...
Hang on in there chick, as people are so fond of telling me every day, he cannot stay in there forever you know....

Piffle, he might . I think I'd rather have what you've got. Grass is always greener eh?
