Just found out I'm pregnant after taking ellaone MAP

Hi everyone,

I have just found out I'm 4 weeks pregnant today after taking ellaone mid cycle 4 days after unprotected sex with my husband (condom malfunction).
Is anyone else in the same boat?
I'm worried about the effect it will have on the baby as I couldn't have an abortion.
I have an appointment booked with the Dr also.

I think the MAP works by stopping/ delaying ovulation for a cycle. Its kind of a work or not thing.

I took the MAP little over 2hrs after a similar occurance with my DP and it was not effective.... it was a big shock to say the least....but that little suprise has just had her 1st birthday! Like you I was really concerned with any negative effects for the baby from the MAP but did some research and talked to lots of Dr's etc for reassurance and there is no risk at all from the MAP. Not Ellaone it was Levonelle I believe. But all MAP's work by the principle of chemically stopping conception - if the conception had already happened the chemicals have absolutely no effect or impact on the devlopment of the baby they just pass through your system. How are you feeling about this unexpected news?

I hope they are all the same, hopefully I will get reassurance from the Dr if there is nobody that has taken it here and gone on to fall pregnant.
I'm feeling so shocked, I keep taking tests and they are all positive- hopefully Dr will confirm with a test/scan possibly as I have read ectopic can be a risk after MAP?
Shocked but happy- just anxious incase ellaone has any effect on baby!
We already have 2 little ones and we weren't planning on a 3rd just yet! Lovely to hear your story!

My MAP baby is coming up for 5!
It was levonelle tho not Ella one but was taken within 12 hours.

He's a wirlwind but no ill effects!

I just found out I'm pregnant too - ellaone as well - except that it worked the month that I took it (had a period) but possibly made me ovulate early this month, didn't know it could mess up the following month too until Dr Google told me just now. Massive surprise as we also have two already and had thought we were all done, hands still shaking with the shock!

I’m about to take EllaOne after accidentally DTD on peak fertility day… argh! Although I ovulate today so not sure it will work. Was everything ok with the babies born after taking MAP? I have an 18 month old and not ready yet for another.
