Hi all,

I jus wondered if anyone had to go back for their 20 weeks scan because your baby wouldn't turn around?

DD was in a difficult position so after jiggling a bit and not managing to move her I was sent away to eat some lunch and something sugary. I went back half an hour later and that had done the trick Grin

No but only because the sonographer poked baby's bum to shift her!

Yep, at pretty much every scan our baby has been in the worst positions for monitoring! Nothing helped, poking, cold drinks, hot drinks, walking etc. These just made him move so much and so strongly that they couldnt do any of the measurements!

That makes me feel so much better. I have to go back next week, I just hope his in a better position. I don't usually feel him move until the evening.
Thanks everyone for your replies xx

I know people who it's happened to as well. On the plus side, DS zoomed all over the place and has barely sat still for the last 13 years. Perhaps you're having a placid one Smile

It happened to me. My little one moves constantly and they couldnt see the spine properly. I was sent away to have a cold drink, something sugary etc and it did nothing. I went back a few days later and after a lot of prodding they were eventually able to see what they needed.

DuggeeHugs · 20/06/2017 16:34

Yep, had this at the 20 week scan. Lying in such a way as to prevent them completing the heart and spinal checks. Was given a second appointment at 22 weeks. Still in a bad position but a mix of walking, lying on each side and general pleading resulted in them turning just at the end so the tests could be completed!
