4 days really faint line?

Jaynexx22 · 20/06/2017 06:24

Hi, I have had 4 days of very faint BFP lines on pregnancy tests. I am now two days late on my period - I am just slightly confused as to why the line isn't getting any darker? Can anyone help or advise?

If you're only 2 days after your missed period, that could be why? As you're still producing the hormone that makes it darker. I'll attach a picture of my test on the day of my missed period. I took one the following day which was darker and then 3 days later a Clearblue which confirmed.
Try and take it first thing in the morning, that's my only suggestion. Good luck (for whatever result you're hoping for).

The line darkness isn't really a great indicator of much. It's best to just be patient and let things progress, and if your period stays away then that's the best sign! Can you post some pics? :)

Also to say, for my DS1, the lines were consistently faint. After 2-3 I didn't bother doing more tests to see if it got darker.

For DS2 on the other hand, as soon as the indicator got wet, up came this thick, very dark line, not even a few seconds of waiting! It didn't have any effect on how the pregnancies went or the health of the baby.

Thanks for replying :) I will attach a couple of photos of the tests! I worry a lot and it was making me panic that there was a problem if I couldn't get a darker line!

Well there's no doubt they are positive! Have you tried with the first wee of the day, so that it is more concentrated?

I'm sure everything is fine!

Jaynexx22 · 20/06/2017 07:57

Yeah these are using the first wee of the day! I'm gonna try not test for a few days! Fingers crossed :)

A line is a line. Darkness is meaningless- it's either 'there's some HCG above the minimum' or there isn't

Sometimes they get darker, sometimes they're dark to start and then get lighter

Thank you for your reply!

My tests got lighter over 4 days. Thought the worst. Now 11 weeks and there's a baby with a heartbeat there! Put the tests down!

Princessk29 · 20/06/2017 14:43

Hi attaching pictures of mine that are four days apart!

The bottom was an early indicator one (first test done) done two days after a missed period, the top just a normal one... (second test done) done four days later...

The test you've put up didn't work on the two times I tried x

It's so weird for how different the different tests are especially when they're the same brand! Thanks for your reassurance guys I really appreciate it :) deffo putting the tests down! Xxx

Have you done any further tests? :)

RS123 · 23/06/2017 16:22

Hi,
I didn't get a dark line until 5wks. Everyone's different but a line is a line, congratulations :)

Jaynexx22 · 23/06/2017 23:02

Unfortunately I started bleeding and cramping yesterday, looks like it was a chemical pregnancy ;( thanks for the help tho guys xx

Sorry to hear that :(

Soooo I’m 4 days late for my period. For the most part they are on time. If late, only like 1-2 days.

I’ve been having lower back pain and mild nausea. Which I chalked up to pms. Hubby wanted me to take a pregnancy test.

Do you think this is positive?

SarahW94 · 03/09/2020 19:59

hello, few years down the line from the original post.. i was just having a scan through trying to find my own answers! so i done a test on Monday & faint but visible lines appeared, i have then repeated the tests every day since but they don't seem to be getting any stronger, any ideas why? I tried to upload a photo but there isnt a option button for me :/

asabee · 03/09/2020 20:59

@SarahW94 it's because you're a new user. Try after 24 hrs. Also how many dpo are you?

SarahW94 · 03/09/2020 21:08

oh is that why? i wasn't sure. my last period was the 30th July so I'm guessing the 8th to the 13th August would of been my ovulation days, i thought at first i was imagining things but they are defo there.

SarahW94 · 04/09/2020 11:59

@asabee oh is that why? i wasn't sure. my last period was the 30th july so i'm guessing the 8th to the 13th August would of been my ovulation days, I thought at first i was imagining the lines but they are a million percent there, but then this morning when I have repeated tests they seem more faint than midday yesterdays.

Jojotitch · 02/05/2021 17:20

Hey old thread hopefully someone may be able to offer any thoughts. Last period 26th March, not sure of cycle length but had a bit of spotting on the 26th April (thinking was my period) now I have had strange pulling around my stomach, gurgling noises, cramps in my lower abdomen that are worse at night and 3 very faint pregnancy tests from different brands, in between about a dozen negatives. Confused much. Anyone else experience same? I would go bug my doc for bloods but trying to wait another week or two.

Babyamom · 14/02/2022 02:02

What was your outcome I’m dealing with something similar I’ve been testing since the 10th and the lines are not getting dark should I be worried

Nikki037297 · 14/02/2022 06:15

@Babyamom Iv had this multiple times, most of the times it turned out to be a chemical pregnancy, once it was a pregnancy of an unknown location, this went on 7 weeks into the pregnancy my hcg was rising abnormally and scans never found the baby. It all came away naturally but I’m sure it was in my left ovary.
I will be honest and say not once has it ever been a good outcome, my lines have always got dark quickly, with my last baby I got a faint faint line at 7dpo on a first response, it was so faint my partner didn’t believe it was there, but I could see it, this was 8am, I tested again just after 2pm and he did see it this time, and in early pregnancy with very sensitive tests the lines should get darker quickly.

shlbymrgn · 22/02/2022 01:02

hi! i’m hoping you see this since you posted not to long ago! what did your results end up being? i’m currently 15dpo. I got my first FAINT positive on 10dpo on 13dpo it was a lot darker but today… it’s very FAINT agin… i’m super nervous and am going to get blood test in the morning. I’m hoping for the best but i’m so scared this is a chemical pregnancy. Best of luck to you! and baby dust for everyone!
